From Ai - Wind turbines can impact groundwater in a number of ways, including: Construction Construction of wind turbine foundations can reduce the water table, and vibrations from construction can damage water wells. Sediment Construction can produce sediment that contains toxic metals, such as arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury. Liquefaction Vibrations from wind turbines can cause aquifer liquefaction, which can lead to particles entering water wells. Groundwater flow Wind turbines can alter the natural flow system of groundwater, and the reduction of forestry in the site area can change infiltration and surface runoff patterns. Groundwater storage Wind turbines can reduce groundwater storage. Wind farms can also impact surface water, springs, wetlands, and waterways. These changes can affect groundwater-dependent ecology and land stability.

@@AAA-o4g that's all construction side. Trying to say that the construction of wind or solar more negativity affects the land then coal, diesel, and nuclear power plants is flawed beyond logic. I live where we have all of the different power plants and sources like renewable and non renewable. The environmental impacts of constructing a traditional power plant vs a wind or solar farm is obvious just using my eyes. Most of the wind and solar plants are put up in a matter of months and disturb far less land than the years of construction for a traditional plant. Also the continued emissions from traditional power that will 100% effect groundwater for the entire time the plant is in operation and even after. They are going to need more power plants in some form. Our power needs are not going to go down. Only power source that is negligible on the environmental impacts is nuclear but there are other side effects from that like what to do with the nuclear material once it's been used up.

@@AAA-o4ghow does fracking or horizontal drilling affect water? Fracking (hydraulic fracturing) and horizontal drilling can significantly impact water resources in several ways. Here’s a breakdown of the potential effects: 1. Water Use • Fracking requires large quantities of water-typically millions of gallons per well. This can strain local water supplies, especially in areas where water resources are already limited or during droughts. 2. Groundwater Contamination • Spills and Leaks: Chemicals used in the fracking fluid, which often contain toxic substances, can spill during transport, storage, or injection, potentially contaminating nearby groundwater sources. • Faulty Well Casings: Poorly constructed or aging well casings can allow fracking fluid or methane to migrate into underground aquifers. • Flowback Water: After fracking, some of the fluid returns to the surface as flowback water. If not properly treated or managed, it can leak into the environment and contaminate water sources. 3. Surface Water Contamination • Improper disposal or accidental spills of flowback water or produced water (water released from the well containing heavy metals, salts, and radioactive materials) can contaminate rivers, lakes, and streams. • Runoff from fracking sites can carry pollutants into nearby surface waters. 4. Earthquakes and Water Pathways • Fracking can induce small earthquakes, and these seismic events may alter the geology of an area, potentially creating new pathways for pollutants to migrate into water supplies. 5. Depletion of Local Water Resources • The high demand for water can lower water tables or reduce water availability for agriculture, ecosystems, and communities. This is especially critical in arid regions. 6. Impact on Aquifers and Groundwater Flow • The process of injecting fluid into deep shale formations at high pressure can change subsurface water flow patterns, potentially affecting natural aquifer recharge processes. 7. Saltwater Intrusion • In coastal regions, excessive water withdrawal for fracking can lead to saltwater intrusion into freshwater aquifers, further reducing drinking water quality. Mitigation Measures Efforts to reduce these impacts include: • Recycling and reusing fracking water. • Improving well casing and construction standards. • Strict monitoring and regulation of fracking operations. • Proper treatment and disposal of wastewater. The extent of these impacts varies depending on local geology, regulatory practices, and the technology used. However, without stringent safeguards, fracking can pose significant risks to water quality and availability.

We've had almost 10,000 unused federal drill permits since Obama was in office that Oil company's just won't use because they don't need to. Why continue to drain the Oil battery when we have so many other options that are renewable? It makes no sense.
