I absolutely love this team, but I have to say the one thing I don’t like is how it keeps bringing in older or other players who just want a chance at a championship because they never got it from their original schools; and have them take the place of players who were chosen to be on this team from the beginning and deserve to have those positions. Kelly Maxwell doesn’t need to be there. She had her for four years at OSU. Neither do some of the others that were brought in. Kiersten Deal has earned her spot. Nicole May has earned her spot over and over and over again and deserves to be the ace of this team. But you don’t see Nicole May or Kirsten Deal sitting at that table. For PR purposes Maxwell has to be there because the coaching staff knows what a negative hit Maxwell and the team will take due to her joining OU. They’ve got to make it look like she’s completely supported by Oklahoma and all its staff and fans. But sadly players like Kiersten Deal and SJ Guerin who more than proved themselves (pitching even better than Maxwell did) in the battle series, will still take a third-string back seat behind Nicole May who will be behind Kelly Maxwell. Sadly, that’s how it worked for Mariah Lopez, and McKenzie Donahoo and Zeda Puni and a few others. Both Sophia Nugent and Jocelyn Erickson were very smart to transfer out because they knew they’d have an opportunity to actually play ball rather than risk playing part time or just sitting the bench. As I said, I absolutely love Oklahoma softball, and I do love Patty Gasso, but these types of moves? It reminds me of the Bill Walsh era of the 49ers, and why Joe Montana ended up in Kansas City. It’s not fair to these girls to make these chess-like power moves. It’s not healthy and it’s not right. Yes, college sports are indeed becoming more and more cutthroat in their maneuvers; which is more and more disturbing every day. Very sad. 💝🥎

Down the stretch Kelly Maxwell was very Important at winning the national championship. If Jocelyn Erickson would have hit for the Sooners like she did for the Gators, she might have got more playing time I don't know. I don't judge her, it just looks like she traded a national championship for some playing time. And maybe the playing time was more important. That is her choice and I don't fault her for it. Sometimes it's too bad that so much emphasis is placed on winning. The other side is people hate to lose and they probably should hate to lose.

I had to smile a little bit at Kelly. With her talent of course the team would welcome her on the team. Oklahoma state tarnished themselves by the way they treated Kelly just because she wanted to go to an elite program.
