I don't agree with it, but most states have a maximum of how many cars you can sell as a private individual. In Idaho it's 6, in Texas it's 4. It's total bureaucracy bs, but the state will always come after what they think is owed to them. I'm sorry this is happening hope all fairs well.

Ok. Your buying cars. Paying all related taxes, title transfer fees, etc. Have been doing so for quite some time now. It seems like a hobby. U sell them, everything legally done as well. You don't discuss profit margins or how many vehicles you sell. Someone seems to have found a loophole with what you are doing and brought up a strong case against you. Its unfair that they have singled you out but they are using you to make an example. They have documents plus all the time & money they will use to their advantage feeling nobody will challenge or dispute their findings. I am not a legal expert nor will I tell you what you should do. I live in Indiana and they have the same "car flipping title hopping" laws. Private personal sales are also very limited. I get what you're saying, but the law is the law. You can try and justify it all you want, but the court will see that as irrelevant. Those buying/fixing/selling videos equal subscribers , which equals monetize revenue - the cars are the tool to get that revenue. If it were me, I would be proactive. Stop buying and selling. Make calls on Monday to get served a copy of the summons, then secure a lawyer. Also, these videos (and social media posts) can be used as evidence. Again, stupid laws. Best of luck, you'll get thru this.

Unless you are served direct certified mail stating you are going to be sued from that state, I wouldn't have even said anything on video... Law, you must be officially served. Those people can find anyone..anyone you sold cars to, they can use that information of address directly from it.. don't believe anything you see online..no one can see that information ahead of time except for you and the state... I think someone is trying to just start a fire under your ass.

All the Regulations are made by Big Business to squish the small guy like you and me....Government hates small business or people trying to make extra money legally...They tax you more for a few pennies you make extra !!! Government gets paid by big business and they add all the taxes,regulations,rules,fee's,permits,licenses,taxes so the small guy has a extremely tough time to get started..And if you get started,they come after you..Even if you do all your taxes perfectly,they audit you and you have to spend money to sort it out,even if everything is in order....Its a huge rip off and YES everything is rigged !!! It doesnt matter your race or gender (some people think this it isnt)... Many people who watch you tube and people in general hate people who buy something and fix it up (spend time and money doing so and your time isnt paid for they never take that into consideration) But they see you paid $1300 for a car and sell it for $4000 but they dont understand you spend $2000 fixing it and your time isnt paid for !!! People will complain if someone makes $5 off of someone..Those people who complain like that are the biggest crooks,liars and thieves !! But they want to ruin others lives for some jerk off reason.. Hey man i went through this exact thing 4 years ago here in iowa. Doing same as u. Got a notice, not arrested, went to court. Judge said it was a no-harm misdemeanor and let me pay $27 court costs and do not buy and sell more then 6 cars a year. I just made friends with a small dealer, he added me to his license az a representative, and viola a lot to help sell my cars for a very small commision

I live in northwest Washington 4 hours north of long beach WA, you're only allowed to sell 3 Cars a years private party if you sell 4 or more cars a year in Washington state you have to have a dealer's license..

Government picks on smaller people because they strong arm them,scare them and the smaller guy gets very scared and wants to avoid jail and huge fines..So the Government laughs and says to them pay $25,000 and call it a day and no criminal charges for you... Its all a set up by Big Business to kill the small guy and they pay the Government officials to make more regulations and laws,permits,fee's etc.... World is all fixed,its very tough to make it,unless youre in bed with big business and government !!! The income tax I pay per year is unreal !!! Yet,in front of my business we had a pot hole for 2 years,couldnt avoid it....I actually filled myself (if they found out I would be fined and charged and jailed ) I put gravel in it several times then a buddy came by one day with black top and filled it...Shhhhh..Now,I will be in deep trouble !!

Let’s just say. It’s all got to do with timing. For example, The state of Florida only allows 3 cars sold within a certain period of time. When you buy cars. Sit on them for 3-6months. This satisfies most car insurance providers as well as state regulations on what constitutes as a “dealer”

You buy for X, then sell for Y, whatever the difference is your profit or loss. Any income from KZbin, Patreon, etc is additional income. Remember profits could be taxed as short term cap gains depends on which is higher, which way to go, but for the application of the law the P&L is completely separate from the total income picture.

You should probably start pulling together all your documentation regarding each of the cars you have bought and sold. Be sure to include the tax, tag, and insurance costs, loan interest, and also hours of labor for each one. It should be easy to show that this is a hobby and not a profit making enterprise.

Also states have a limit on the number of cars an individual can sell per year, if you exceed that number you become a dealer in the states eyes and must have a dealer license inorder to sell.

Are you allowed to repair cars? If so, create two businesses. The repair side buys the cars and repairs them then sells them to the sales side at a high price. The sales side then sells them on at a loss. Would that do it? Just an idea. If you think creatively you can probably get around it.

Bro I’m with u it’s ridiculous how city government operates. I’m in San Francisco where cheapest house is at least 1 million. Yet the roads are horrible. WhT they do is hire different contractors for each job. So contractor #1 comes to a street and city hires them to change some underground pipes. Company comes opens roads change a few pipes and take extra long to complete. Then they put a new road down. Week later company #2 comes to change unground wires so they come break the brand new road and change wires when they should have done while the road was open the first time. And the government taxes the shit out of us hard working people to waste money on stupid pointless work. At the same time they got people walking around the drug areas giving away free cell phones to homeless and drug dealers. They say the phones are so these people can go look for work because without a phone they won’t get a job. WOW I couldn’t believe that my tax dollars are being used to buy Samsung smart phones to give out for free to drug dealers and users. At the same time our schools are horrible teachers under paid yet some bum gets a free phone while he sits on his ass begging for change. And now they got a team going after you I’m just disappointed at what our city governments get away with

sorry to hear that bro ,but take it easy and go for it ,here in state of utah you get class C misdemeanor , i have heard people got in that situation and the court gave them two options ,1-get a dealer license in specified period of time by court , 2- utah code penalty is 8000$ that you have to pay or/and you can finance it and make minimum monthly payment ...over all this is so so so stupid
