Im gonna tell you guys a story. I was walking to walmart with my best friend and my brother and we got to walmart and all but the minute we came out IT STARTED POURING we still kept going home. It was like 15 minutes walking. I looked at my phone halfway and a TORNADO WARNING came up and then we started running. We were like 3 minutes home RUNNING and we ran for it. The winds got so strong it almost flew me to the road and the rain was so hard it was like little rocks hitting my arms. We got home safely and then hail started coming down and that is where I started to cry and panic. From that day on everytime there is a tornado warning and it gets dark outside I grab my blankets and go to the safest place of the house.

Lost power for 3 days. lots of trees/powerlines down, They said it was straight line winds, but the way the trees were pulled out of the ground, I'd say it was a EF0/EF1 maybe?

@aaronjones72609 жыл бұрын
do you know what really annoys me, these warnings are given but nobody does anything about it, I know the weather is fascinating and people like to film it but instead of doing that people should heed the warnings and go straight to the basement or safe room and stay there until the warning has surpassed, whether there is a tornado or not, dont wait until you actually see one, this is how people die. I'm not trying to be a party pooper I just want people to be safe and heed the warnings instead of wasting precious minutes filming these storms and putting their lives at risk.

valeria torres That must be difficult on the nerves -- going through that every spring. I would be the same -- always looking at the sky if I lived there. Oklahoma is such a beautiful State - lots of flat farm fields and nature -- it's a shame that it has to get ruined all the time by a tornado. At least the Moore tornado earlier this year wasn't and EF-5 like the last time. Another week, it will be June so keep your fingers crossed. Cheers

It was an 83 degree day until the storm hit and made it 70 degrees in 20 minutes. It got really windy when we got close to light blue on radar. Our flowers got destroyed and smashed. Now it is gonna be a 60 degree day and sunny also windy. Btw there was really black clouds and blue clouds when shit was about to hit.

Why was there a random jogging? Ctfu that's funny. I only experienced bean sized hail maybe twice in my lifetime here in Philly. We've recently had an EF0 tornado hit Philly during that 2011 outbreak in the same year that horrific Tuscaloosa Alabama tornado hit. I didn't get to see it since it hit near Philly's outskirts. It caused very little damage and lasted no more than 5 min by the grace of God. We even had a quake that rocked almost the entire east coast. Hail and tornadoes are an extremely rare occurrence in the coastal Mid Atlantic Northeast so that was amazing to see. Glad your safe!

I live in Australia in a region where we get maybe 300 days of clear blue skies and I just have to say, you have no idea how lucky you are to not just have _weather_ but have something interesting happening outside. The last time I saw lightning, just a single strike, it was 2018. I would trade my weather for snow and the risk or tornados. But, we build our houses here against the risk of cyclones(hurricanes) despite the fact that the last one hit in the 70s, so most houses here can probably withstand most tornados as well. I don't know why your houses in the US are built from such fragile materials, especially given the hurricanes and tornados you regularly get.

This happened on the day of my high school graduation. My family and I barely made it inside my grandma and grandpa house when the sirens sounded.

+BrickboyFilmsx, I think that this video is a life saving video. You got an A plus on your assignment. I saw an tornado while I was visiting Memphis,Tennessee in the year of 1997 & my dad was driving the car & we drove to an hotel to stay & we heard tornado siren all night long & we were safe & there was several damages in Memphis,Tennessee on that year.

Lois Ryan - thanks that totally answers my question! I used to live in Lecompton, KS when I was 3 & 4 years old, I remember the green clouded skies and spending some time in the basement during a tornado watch, but we never had a REAL close call while I was there. The most bizarre thing I think was when a rainbow formed in a dark (and I mean dark) green sky - anyone ever heard of that happening? Anyway, thanks. Crazy stuff happens!

XBrickBoyFilmsx, around what hour/time of the day did this storm come along? It got awful dark there at the end so I'm wondering if the Sun's actually setting or if the clouds really made it that dark. Thanks!

We had a tornado in our town about 15 years ago. It was in the middle of the day but the sky got black. It had touched down about 1 1/2 miles from us.
