A nice solution to the "tiny dancer" syndrome, Jim. And kudos for the vent hole torch solution as well. I'm sure that will work better than the heat sink solution some of us are trying. I guess I need to look thru my box of tube scraps to see what I've got.

G'day Fred, the block of wood bored out worked really well. It still needed the rubber feet though Fred, even the weight of the wood didn't anchor it down. The rubber feet gave it enough grip to beat that tendency. I've had a few pieces of that think aluminium tube for years and years in my tube scrap box.....I never thought I'd use it for anything and today it worked perfectly. Bent really easily and didn't crush at the bend. It really needed it because when the burner warmed up that vent hole was a blow torch. Cheers Jim

Great mod Jim 👍👍👍 I've had secondary flames from the vent hole on a couple of my Microcosm engines. Cheers, Alan.

This was a pretty impressive jet flame Alan around 2"+ high. Fun little engine to play with, have been able to run some small accessories off the drive pulley - Cheers Jim

That’s a good practical tip Jim. I’ll have to remember that. I would like to build a Stirling Engine on day. I find them fascinating. There’s a Stirling Engine Society in the UK and they usually have a display at the model engineering exhibitions I go to. Fantastic models on display. Cheers Nobby

Nobby I always enjoy when someone from the U.K does a video walkthrough of a steam or stirling society get together.....I wish we had similar here. - Cheers Jim

Done a nice job on the mods for this little engine. I used to be able to get K&S stock locally to me but unfortunately that shop closed down.

Nice ideas....how did you do the bend in the ali pipe that thin without it crushing at the bend?
@SteamEngines-Jim3 ай бұрын
Just bent it very very slowly and held my breath....I think holding my breath helped :)
