The best part about the mangler squigs is, due presumably to a bit of oversight between design and testing, the animations of the mangler squigs cause knockback *before* enemy units can make contact with their hit box... which means mangler squiggles can charge head-first into elite halberds like the Keepers of the Flame and take 0 charge reflection damage, because the halberds get knocked back and count as unbraced when the squigs charge into them

I think the thing that makes Mangler squigs so strong is that their attacks are contact, they don't have proper attack animations. This means they don't knock over enemies, and Legend has told me many times that units that have been knocked over can't take damage, most units will sit there and wait for the knocked over unit to get back up before they go back to kicking the shit out of each other. But not the Mangler Squigs, they're built different, and it's great.
