Orhogbua conquered an island, Oto at Ebute Metta precisely, after defeating Olofin Ajaye. He thereafter set up a military camp, Eko, how does that translate to "founding" Lagos? What about the Awori, Egun, etc people who owned the land. Your narrative is similar to colonial conjecture of "discovering" places already being occupied by the real owners. Lagos State is NOT a Benin established state, beyond Eko that you kept talking about, and the establishment of the royalty, which do not preclude original owners who have always known the place as Oto. What Benin/Orhogbua had established Eko on was Aromire's Idun Iganran, an Ijebu term for pepper farm, on the island Bight was a colonial term, the guy kept mixing fantasy with a little bit of historical fact laced with "Benin hierarchy" impulse that was clear from his conflicting claims.

@@Dj_Aplus Oranmiyan descendants who are Yoruba made Igodomigodo land famous and changed the place name a Yoruba name,Benin throne belong to Yoruba race. No any Ogiso dynasty conquer anywhere and were not known for any exploit. You are right, they camped in Lagos island because the Aworis and other Yoruba ethnic groups in Lagos allowed them to have camp there because they used to say they are descendants of Oranmiyan the Yoruba man. Neither Oduduwa or Oranmiyan spoke edo language but spoke Yoruba.

If you are familiar with Lagos you dont need a historian to tell you that the Bini people own Lagos... I think this guy need to learn more about history, especially that of Lagos, because he still lack a lot of info about Lagos.. Many Benin chiefs came over to the then Eko ,settled and were given titles like lga Bashua The name Bashua is actually a Benin name Bayagbona But on getting to Eko and through the years Bayagbona later called Bashua is one of the ruling families of the present Lagos The lga Bashua is the Shomolu area of the present Lagos and still exist
