One of my biggest dreams ever was to play drums like this. My dream was so strong I built some of these drums for myself here in California because they were not available to buy here. I built an okedo-daiko (shoulder drum worn by the guy with the light blue shirt and straw hat), the larger shoulder drums, and the tiny okedo you can see in the back (I forgot the name now). I bought a pair of jangwara (cymbals) and a shime-daiko. I tried to start a taiko group like Kodo, but no one here in my city shared my vision. It was a huge heartbreak. Now my drums sit silent and cold. Luckily, I was able to meet Kodo performers Ryutaro Kaneko, Yoko Fujimoto, Tsubasa Hori, and Motofumi Yamaguchi.

淡路島の小学生が演奏しているのを見て、本家の演奏しているのを見てみたいと検索しているうちに行き着きました。やっぱり横打ち太鼓はカッコイイ！ 娘が卒業したら、いつの間にか横打ち太鼓の演目が無くなってしまった。
