@LeviBulger6 жыл бұрын
Mine came yesterday and it's effing amazing. The hi gain section is a little over the top, but I may actually rip it out and insert a Mooer Black Secret (love that pedal)circuit in there. Instant Gilmour in a box. Especially for Wall/pulse tones. Mooer makes great stuff and a lot of their best stuff is on here. Yellow comp, green mile, mooer EQ, eleclady, trelicopter, echoverb module.... It's all legit. Once I swap in the rat clone, all I'll need to do is put a vibe/Leslie pedal in the trucks fx loop and boom. Oh and maybe a wah and a DigiDrop pedal in front. 5 presets that can also switch on the internal fx loop is brilliant. Both live and preset modes are very usable and gigging will be much simpler. This was an easy purchase once I realized how much I could simplify my rig. I always prefer amp distortion, but who knows... Maybe I can modify the Hi Gain more to my taste with some different components. I really wish they put the black Secret in that section, but I get what they were going for. As is, it's almost tesseract in a box. The red truck kicks ass, but this is even better. Some people may actually like the hi gain section, but it only sounds good to me through my Marshall and closed back cab. The hi gain sounds kinda bad through my fender because the mids are already missing on that amp (most high gain pedals sound crap through fenders anyway). The treble is also a bit over the top but it definitely cuts, unlike a lot of metal pedals. The hi gain section nails Dimebag tones right out of the box. And it surprisingly has loads of bottom end. Overall, I am more than happy with it. These are all the effects I use in one unit (aside from a chorus/vibe and my ventris reverb which I will route into the black truck). Makes life simple, especially when traveling. Ola, you make everything sound so damn good. At least I can attest that this things is actually very, very good. Wish I had your high gain tone tho. This pedal sounds killer with your setup. Mooer continues to kill it.
@TheJMan1K6 жыл бұрын
Felix Blacksher how do you swap different circuits in? Is it plug and play? Thank you.
@LeviBulger6 жыл бұрын
If it is even possible, then it involves a lot of desoldering and re-soldering various wires, resistors, and PCBs. I'm almost certain that the circuit is not isolated, but I want to check anyway. At the very least, I would want to try to tame the distortion by changing out some of the internal components. You can look up boss metal zone frommel mods to see whatl I'm talking about. But my main goal is to replace all the components of the hi gain section with a black Secret Pedal components
@ExDementia6666 жыл бұрын
I couldn't find this online, but is is possible to load other cab impulses into this like the Radar?If so then I will 100% buy one
@LeviBulger6 жыл бұрын
Garrett Davis No, The Radar is their cab Sim. This is more for a live setting. It does have a sinulated out, but that's not really what it's for. It's a digitally controlled analog fx pedal. . It consolidates a lot of their most popular pedals into one unit. This plus one of their new preamps and the radar is basically the whole package.
@IcedDemon6666 жыл бұрын
13:30 "so you can set this how ever you want with presets" unfortunately that statement is false. Per the owner's manual, Page 4 very bottom tiny print: "Note: Effect parameters can not be stored to the presets. Only the on/off state of each effect module will be stored" What does that mean? Well if you want, let's stay, footswitch one to be your clean sound with reverb, You cannot make foot switch 2 a lead sound with Delay. It's either reverb for everything or delay for everything, or both. Also, You cannot store gain settings for the OD, or Hi-Gain switches. If you want for example footswtich 2 to be a little bit over driven, you cannot make another preset with a different over drive setting. I hope that all makes sense. This should be made well known, and was not mentioned anywhere on any reviews of this pedal or the official website. Only in the tiny little print in the owners manual

I almost bought this in a store once and when I tried to test out my own preferences in a gig, I was baffled. The test I did was to save a specific delay/reverb with comp preset set to a specific time signature, unplug the device and tried to run the saved preset. Major turn off for this one but really was a good deal if you’re willing to tinker heavily every gig.
@tombal74084 жыл бұрын

You're right indeed ! It's a very important information but it is not enough stressed during demo... Actually this don't bother me personnaly, I usually use it to mess around doing "LIVE MODE" but I understand that it can be a turnoff for some people. At least, in "PRESET MODE" once all the knobs are tweaked correctly on each effect, you can switch between them easily but yeah it's a kind of "FAKE presets" mode

I bought this last week and it's done exactly what I wanted - simplified my pedalboard so I focus on playing/practicing instead of fiddling. Two notes: the effects loop on/off is NOT saved as part of the preset function, and when you turn on a module, it turns on when you RELEASE the pedal. Normal stopboxes turn on when you press down, but this one's a little slower.

All these new Multi-FX are awesome. Nothing beats old school Buttons and Knobs, with new School tech. These are a perfect match for the cheap ($100 to $300) Tube and Solid state Mini-Heads available today. Plan on getting both the Moore Red Truck and Black Truck. These are going for under $200 if you shop. NUX Cerberus looks really cool to. Here are few others ranging from $50 to $80 Sonicake 4-1 Series (Twiggy Blues, Rock Stage and Black Hammer) Multi Alpha Force 3 (Has some good 80's metal sound) MOSKY 4-in-1 (Has a FX Loop) For a beginner I would check reviews find the FX in your price range and get a nice practice amp for a small room. I use a Vox mini 5 and a Bulgera Vintage 5 Tube amp, both can set to under 1 watt. Vox has a separate Mic and rhythm section, Cab Sim and FX section. It also can be run on batteries. Nice little sidewalk amp.

I was just looking at some Mooer pedals online and came on YT to get the scoop. I wasn't looking at this one, but all the guys demoing the other pedals were doing the most non-distortion sounds you could imagine. Just endless, soft Eric Johnson noodling. Then this popped up, and I was like "what's a fuckin black truck and does Ola like it? I knew you'd at least attempt to get it to metal properly, and goddamn. I'm crazy impressed that it goes that hard and sounds that friggin good. And for +/-$200? I've got a Boss Katana Artist II and I love it, but like with most multifx setups, I honestly don't use most of it that much, so I've been looking around for something that hits the necessary buttons but doesn't have 10,000 options for when I buy a big-boy head (that I'll probably just play through this Artist cab for a while, cuz this thing is a screamer). This seems like exactly the kind of thing I didn't know I was looking for. It sounds THAT GOOD on KZbin? Coming out of a soundbar? I'm definitely going to pick one up. Should sound great through this Waza, but I was already leaning in the Peavey direction for a head later, and now I know for sure that it's a good match. I'm more of a bass guy, actually and I NEED this exact thing. But for bass.

I tried one earlier, the over drive and distorted tone is hella awesome, and the eq and effects were great as well, but I didn’t buy it, it’s best for players who want a simple rig for clean, over driven, distorted, lead and effects tones, but it’s limited to that, what you see is what you get but you can add effects through the fx loop so it’s not that limiting, but I didn’t buy it because I’m looking for something way more versatile, I recommend this pedal for hard rock and metal players, blues players can use it too but I require a bit more than that for what I want to do

What is not clear to me is if each preset created is saved exactly as it was done, that is, are the parameters of each effect included in the preset (levels, tones, gains, etc.) saved? I'm asking you this because I read somewhere on the web that "preset mode only save the switch state, but parameters cannot be saved".

I think a Solar Ola Drive pedal would be a great idea. Guitars now but hey pedals next?

This would be perfect for festival dates, my only criticism is that it could have had a TRS output so it could do amp switching. That would have been a selling point for me

Does it still worth? How does it sounds using the outputs of the unit in returns inputs of the amps?

The other demos do not sound nearly this good. Can you do direct to a PA for live use? Would you want to add a cab sim box like Blu or something else? Also, can you use the EQ in Post mode as a solo boost, will it boost the volume this way when going direct to the PA?
