King Sunny Ade has been my best Nigerian star musician, from my days at UI, during the annual Havanna Festival by the elite Sigma Club. Even though I don't understand Yoruba language, his music, guitar (electrifying) & lyrics, touch my bones and set my body dancing. Sunny is simply awesome. The Best!

I was raised in Lagos when Sunny Ade unrated onto the Lagos musical scene in 1969. I am so delighted to hear the sounds of King Sunny Ade bring back memories of a ten year old running the streets of okearin, isaleeko, reclamation, nnamdi azikiwe in central Lagos. Thanks for uploading. God bless you Olatokunbo. God bless Nigeria. God bless a prodigy of and in Sunny Ade. It gives me goose pimples to hear his voice and his music and mastery of Yoruba idioms, proverbs, axioms. This is classic. It is mythical. Long live Nigeria

Hey, world ... Some 6 months ago or so I posted a comment asking if anyone could help me find the LP I once recorded at a university radio station--back when they allowed any old student to stay in there 'til the wee hours. I can't find my comment or the replies (if anyone can tell me how to force a deeper Notifications search, please let me know). But today Shazzam worked. One song, which I had tried to offer a phonetic for, was given as "Mo Gbe Tuntun De." I still don't know the album (dubbed cassette, and no notes taken). Aha: Album called "Bobby." I have zero memory of that. This is it! 50 years later. Might be a commemoration of someone who died. Super super record! Discogs has its uses.
