One of the funniest musical action comedy movies ever made! RIP, John Belushi, Carrie Fisher, John Candy, Henry Gibson, Cab Calloway, Donald Dunn, Kathleen Freeman, Ray Charles, James Brown, John Lee Hooker, Jeff Morris, Aretha Franklin, Alan Rubin, and Matt Murphy. They all made this a fun ride.

The prison guard that gave Jake his property back at the beginning of the movie is the great Frank Oz. You may not recognize his face, but he's the voice of Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Sam Eagle from The Muppets, Bert, Grover, and Cookie Monster from Sesame Street, the Wiseman from Labyrinth, Aughra and Chamberlain from Dark Crystal, and last but certainly not least, Yoda from Star Wars.

Aretha Franklin the owner of the is considered the Queen of Soul. She was a world renowned singer and the song she did here Respect was one of her biggest hits. Ray Charles the owner of the instrument store was a musical prodigy labelled the genius by his contemporaries. The preacher James Brown was the Godfather of Soul and enormously popular in the 50s and 60s. Truthfully everyone who performed in this movie including the Blues Brothers Band were giants in the history of American music.

Rock and Metal have some roots in the Blues. As an old Metalhead I can say I always loved this movie, saw it back when it came out and then a zillion times on cable T.V. Great reaction!

John fukn Belushi was one of the greatest talents to ever grace planet earth! He's the only one in history who simultaneously was on the number one tv show, had a number one movie, and a number one album all at the same time! And he was just getting started before he took his appetites too far! Miss you, John!😢 ✌🌎❤

Your intuitions how the movies continues or what are they all about in the beginning are so good, I noticed it :) In most of the jazz and blues bands the practice is the live play itself for the audience. Improvisation has a large role, it's about experiencing, demonstrating current emotions. Interestingly there's a lot of action scenes, and at least the sunglasses are always on carelessly :) Nice video, I loved it :)

1.This was Dan Aykroyd's baby that started out as a SNL skit. He eventually got with Landis (thus Chicago) and it was built on that. There were already songs made for the Blues Brothers from SNL 2. All star cast.🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 3. "We have a half pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses"🤣🤣 4. A MUCH better Musical (even better than Grease IMVHO). It's "Hair" 1979. John Savage, Treat Williams and Beverly D'Angelo. Milos Foreman Directed. "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest' and "Hair"😎😎 6.. They smash so many cars that "Smokey and the Bandit" was practice. WE'RE ON A MISSION FROM GOD😇😇

Btw, friend, the reason you enjoyed the soundtrack so much is because the Blues gave birth to Rock & Metal. Heard you say it was your fave music. Would suggest you look up history of Rock sometime. You'll discover decades of great jams leading up to the '80's when Mtv came along & image became more financially valued over quality of music. It changed the game into what you see today.😔 ✌🌎❤

"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses." "Hit it." Fun Fact: The line "They broke my watch!" occurs three times in the film, each time spoken or voiced over by a policeman on the losing end of a car chase with the Blues Brothers. Music Enthusiast Fact: Some performers were not used to lip-syncing pre-recorded songs, standard procedure for movie musicals. James Brown ended up singing his number live with a recorded backing (the rest of his choir was lip-syncing). John Lee Hooker's performance was recorded live at Chicago's Maxwell Street Market. Aretha Franklin's performance is cut together from many, many takes, using the parts where her lip-syncing was actually in sync. Automobile Enthusiast Fact: The Bluesmobile is a 1974 Dodge Monaco. The vehicles used in the film were used police cars purchased from the California Highway Patrol, and featured the "cop tires, cop suspension, and cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant" mentioned by Elwood in the film. A total of twelve Bluesmobiles were used in the movie, including one that was built just so it could fall apart. Several replicas have been built by collectors, but one original is known to exist, and is owned by the brother-in-law of Dan Aykroyd. Dodge Monacos from 1974-77, including the upscale Royal Monaco, especially those which came with the A38 police option, are now considered collector's items. They have been used as replica Chicago P.D. and Illinois State Police cars, including Bluesmobile tribute cars. This has led to the scarcity of this generation of Mopar C-bodies, leading some replica squad cars and Bluesmobiles to use the Plymouth Gran Fury or Chrysler Newport instead. Universal Studios Hollywood has a replica Bluesmobile on the lot; it's a 1974 Dodge Coronet, since the Monaco has become so rare. A world record 103 cars were wrecked during filming. The Junkman (1982) broke the record 2 years later, wrecking 150 cars and a plane. That record was held for 2 decades, until over 300 cars were wrecked during the filming of The Matrix Reloaded (2003).

The only thing I didn't like was your lack of knowledge of this music, as you didn't recognize any of the legends that were in this movie. James Brown, John Lee Hooker, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and Cab Calloway all sang in this movie. Also the assessor at the end was a cameo by Steven Spielberg, 4 time Oscar winner.
