This is what I call a gross overreach of the State. The State exists because we consent to pay taxes and they agree to use those taxes to provide shared public services like defence, roads, binmen etc. That’s it. Encouraging violence should stay a crime."Hate" is subjective, and to often hurty words are classified as hate to silence people. The Police have a job to keep law and order. The order part is getting to know your community and the people in it, having a conversation instead of arresting. The law part is for those who are actually committing a crime not those who are saying something you dont like.

Is the Digital World part of the the real World ? Not really. If you offend or disagree with one person face to face they deal with it ,both of you can instantly use anger,humour,facial expression , sarcasm,your Character and strength to deal with the situation and possibly an apology. Online only some of that can be relayed and even then misunderstood without the personal contact. You are talking to one person at the same time declaring your opinion to the World. Without the aforementioned contact its guaranteed to be disagreeable to someone. I understand the idea of someone saying something that could be an initial expression leading to a actual crime latter i just doubt the Human ability to sift through that and make correct discisions every time. The Laws such as Theft and Burglary have a simple definition which any Police Officer can use with certainly. Does the action fit the definition if so its a Crime. Past Police had clear boundary's. They were Citizens appointed to protect Life and property and enforce actual laws leading to the prosecution of offenders. At present these non crimes may prevent a few crimes but at what cost to Social Cohesion respect for the Police and Authority and in its darkest case can be the first step on a ladder to Social control which could be used in the future ..Also does this give the average Citizen the feeling of freedom and to be Human, or nervious of minor failings that could impact future job prospects when they have never broken a Law and are a upright Citizens. The guest was very good. Its a judgement call on Officers who we want to address the Crime rate first to gain our trust and respect i guess most people would want that.🤔
