Ooooh.....I gotta listen to more new Chevelle. I've heard their older albums....and they're not bad. Sometimes quite good. But nothing that blows me away. But THIS song? Genuinely excellent to my ears on first listen. The song/riff structures remind me of something off Deftones Koi No Yokan album. And that's a very very good thing.

One of the coolest things about Chevelle is that they’re all family. It started with Pete, Sam, and Joe - three brothers. Joe was a douche and got booted. Dean, their brother in law joined as bassist. Dean just recently dropped out though, to spend time with family. Pete did the bass on this album, but will tour with the guy from Aeges.

@@seemlesslies Interesting. What makes you say that?
@seemlesslies
@seemlesslies 3 жыл бұрын
@@evanmoore2141 because Joe has come out publicly stating what happened. He never wanted to leave the band. He never even knew he was out of the band. They announced it without even telling him in the first place publicly. In regard to Pete I would say just based on what happened in the first place, and then the fact I was listening to commentary of one of their albums the writer couldn't even be bothered to talk about it showed me what kind of person he was. I'm almost positive it was commentary for La Gargola. I love Chevelle, but I do not think Pete is a good dude. Honestly, most amazing musicians are total pieces of shit in some form or another. They generally have insanely huge egos (you have to, to be famous honestly and to be a front runner). I love a band called Dead Poetic, but Brandon Rike is a POS he openly admits it in the Tooth and Nail Podcast. My brother and I were into Project 86 Andrew Swab seemed like a good dude till he ran the band into the ground. Jared Leto, Bret McCracken, Jonny Craig, Brendon Urie, and Ronnie Radke. I have mad respect musically for all these dudes, but all of them have seriously problems. Leto started a cult, Bret is a known drug addict and abuser and just an all around bad person, Jonny is addicted to heroin and embolizes money from his bands, Brendon just seems to be obsessed with being famous ( I don't actually know that much about him honestly), and God where the fuck do I even start with Ronnie...... Ronnie is likely one of the best composers and musicians of our time, but that dude has some serious character flaws. At least he is open about them, and actively trying to become a better person for sure. My favorite book is written by a known racist of the LDS. Enders Game. In my experience people who make the greatest art are generally not good people. I would even say to make good art you kind of have to be a bad person because that is likely what made you use art as an outlet in the first place.
@terrirocklover7957

@@seemlesslies just curious, why do you believe Joe rather than Pete and Sam? Pete and Sam have said previously that Joe wasn't reliable for rehearsals and didn't want to tour. Doesn't Pete have the right to control things, when he is the one who writes it all?

I love how the guitar is on a different pattern than the drums and the bass, it's tool like only fliped. So cool. the singer puts himself in the pocket when needed but punches through when needed.

Love love love this whole album! 1. Listen to the whole album start to finish at least twice. 2. My favorite section of the album is VVormhole leading into Peach. 3. When you Listen to Ghost and Razor pay attention to The way Pete sings the “O” sound. It is identical to Maynard. Super round and gravelly. Chevelle has a ton of great stuff but my favorites that are not on this album are Vitamin R, Joyride, and Take out the Gunman.

Chevelle is one of my all time favorites. Saw them live and was literally front row and they blew my face off. They don’t seem as heavy as say Death Metal but hearing them live they might be one of the heaviest bands I’ve ever seen. This song is amazing along with the rest of the album

Great choice, Geebz! Chevelle have been a consistently solid band for 20 years now. Check out "The Red" for an old school banger or "Face to the Floor" or "Take out the Gunman" for a newer rager. Love yer channel, bro! Aloha!! 🤙🌞🤙

One other thought: On the topic of 4/4 time. As much as it may be plain jane it can definitely drive a song. There's a reason why it's attractive to the listener, sometimes the ear just wants something that isn't hard to comprehend.

So nice to see some Chevelle here! Like you said in your video, most of my playlist is heavy Meshuggah inspired bands, but Chevelle is the one I keep coming back to. The majority of their discography is so great that I would have trouble recommending a single song. The way the vocalist constructs his hooks lets his voice melt into the guitar rhythms but at the same time be upfront and in your face. Hope to see some more Chevelle soon here!

My favorite song off an album full of great songs ❤️❤️ Chevelle’s entire discography is one I can listen to clean through and not dislike a single track. Really enjoy your reaction videos compared to most of the clickbaity alternatives. Nice to hear someone bring some actual musical background to review.

My favorite modern band. I've seen them twice. Could see them everyday. I own all their albums. 3 on top vinyl signed. Just got two in today and two shirts. Can't believe only 4 million of their albums have sold. Vena Sera is my favorite album of theirs. They have been wanting to put this album out for atleast a year but have hunkering down since March.

I’m so glad you did this song. I’m a long time Chevelle fan, but this last album has been sort of life changing for me. It is the most complete product they have ever created. This is probably my favorite song on the album, and Pete’s power in the chorus is so awesome. Watching your reactions and hearing your words on the engineering and overall experience to the bands I love soooooo much (Chevelle, Tool, Sevendust, Primus) is so fun.

This is my favorite track from the new album. Please cover more. Pete’s voice is incredible - so many ranges. He does melody, falsetto, belting, screaming.
