I've been saying "Not now, Jim, I'm trying to drive" in a deadpan voice to my wife for YEARS. Now I can finally show her what I'm talking about. Thanks for posting this!!!

Lived overseas in Europe from '85-'87 and also Asia in the early 2000's. They were still showing that spy one with the chick back in 2001. But, yeah, I remember the many commercials(OPSEC,etc). Certainly not the same these days, I would imagine.

We were in Panama from 1990-1992, started in Fort Clayton and moved to Fort Davis and Fort Espinar. I have been looking for that "Stop, don't drink and drive, don't drink and drive, slow down" commercial for years. It still gets stuck in my head to this day. I did find the "Hey mommy mommy, hey daddy daddy, buckle me in to my safety seat" commercial on her, it made me giggle. It's amazing how corny these commercials were. Good memories, good times!

Dude, I'm a veteran and my father served as well, I remember these commercials as a teenager at Incilik AFB, Turkey. Have you seen the one where the sexy girl sits at the bar at a base club, like that's where men go to find dates, the camera pulls up to her face and she has comical amounts of spit and "chaw" tobacco roll over her teeth and into the glass you thought she was drinking. This was to discourage dip tobacco use in the military. They made some messed up commercials in retrospect.

I was in Germany about 1988-1991 and one which I remembered was about walking along the train tracks, it ended with the narrator saying "Don't let this be the last sound you hear" followed by the sound of a German high speed train. I'd like to see or even hear that one again.

I lived on Ft. Clayton, Panama from 1983-1987, and my family (not including me) were in a commercial for a local crisis line or help line. The background music was Pink Floyd "Hey You," ending with "Don't give in without a fight." Anyone have a copy of that one? I would love to see it!!

Misawa Japan, '89-93'; These among others. Predominately about practicing good OPSEC. What hardships we endured. No internet... only "bullentin board systems", one FEN/ARFTS channel, some weird british channel (probably BBC) and all the rest were regular local basic cable (i.e. Japanese) Takeshi's castle was cool. We thought we were somebodies when MTV finally showed up... back when they actually played video's. Anyone remember the, "I shoulda hada sponsor" commercials???

The BX/PX commercial was probably made after the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell". I have the same problem trying to accessorize. Imagine sending 10,000 drag queens into to Syria. ISIS will break and run home. Now that's shock and awe!
