And thus the Deadpool arc finally comes to a close. I feel like I was able to resolve everything in a meaningful way, but what did y'all think? And what are your thoughts on Deadpool vs Mask? Lmk in the comments and stay tuned for something you guys actually wanted me to talk about, lol.

Some people, including Nemesis, have told me Gintoki and Dante would've been better opponents for Deadpool but I wholeheartedly disagree; Gin might have more in common with DP thematically but it's still debatable from a research perspective, practically ruining the purpose of the episode. Dante on the other hand is too recognizable as a character in the versus community to be in a spite match against Deadpool like an episode of Cartoon Fightclub, especially since he has so many more options that people have wanted since day one. It's also a bit more cathartic since The Mask was supposed to be the next Batman but fell into mediocrity after his short-lived comic run, so it's much more satisfying to see him take DP down than some rando anime or video-game character.

I have to agree on you we seen a lot of crazy death battles, but I have to say the Deadpool vs Mask has to be the most chaotic and comedic death battle I’ve ever seen in my entire life, like the fourth wall, breaking the references like everything really starts out as their own characters and personally that’s why I love him so much. Also fun fact, Deadpool actually stated that he hates anime.

I’ll never understand the people that hate this fight. While not necessarily one of my favorite fights (while I do still dock points for how unfair the matchup is, I am willing to go easy on it because of the continuity), dammit- I thought this battle was one of the funniest yet. I almost get the feeling that they think joke battles are not allowed for some reason.

Even as someone who's not the biggest fan of this episode I gotta say you did an amazing job with this review and in someways you got me to rethink my feelings on this episode as a whole. And after some rethinking I gotta say my only real problem with the episode is that I just didn't find alot of the jokes that funny (even the jokes from the pre-analysis). But outside that it's an episode I can see had alot of effort and care put into it and I can see why many say it's great. I'd still probably put it as my 11th best of season 6 with a 6/10 rating (at least it didn't bore me to death like Black Widow vs Widowmaker and it's animation being a stomp in favor of one character was intentional unlike Aang vs Ed) but that's more cause so much of season 6 was just amazing. Great job on the review and I can't wait for your season 7 vid! (Was the gas smell gag at the a reference to me calling season 7 "DB's Gas Leak Year" in the comments of the season 6 vid?)

Can I just say I think Bill vs Sans is a totally unfair matchup? Yeah, Sans is pretty tough, but he’s not an immortal God that can reign over reality and time itself. No contest there. The pacifist Final boss from Undertale is a MUCH better matchup to me. (Won’t spoil who it is for the sake of those who don’t know and haven’t played it, in case they’re reading)

Yeah- they put someone from the Sonic universe against a super saiyan from Dragon Ball. That’s not a fair matchup at all- nor do the 2 of them have a lot in common other than turning from bad to good. At least Ryuko and Shadow were both edgy, started out as seeking revenge, and became full blown heroes eventually.

@@Mojo1356 I was actually talking about Mewtwo vs Shadow (which is a better matchup but not a better episode) but yeah, Vegeta vs Shadow sucks as well. At least Shadow vs Ryuko had a cool and fast paced fight that didn't feel like it was made to spite or make fun of either character.

@@robmacher3253 oh. I think your time stamp is a little off in that case, but regardless, I don’t like that episode either. Number 1, these guys as a pair have even less in common than Vegeta and Shadow, and number 2, they really nerfed Shadow hard in that episode imho. I know some hate it when fighters return over and over and over again (looks at Batman and Deadpool for as much as I love all 3 of the latter’s fights for 1 reason or another), I can give Shadow a pass this time for Ryuko since A) this was actually a much more even matchup than the other 2 (it’s not often that someone’s speed becomes the sole factor that he isn’t losing. The only other fight I can think of for that reason is Raiden vs Wolverine where Raiden is much faster), B) both of these fighters were at their best and not messed with, and C) these 2 actually have quite a bit in common (the people who are saying that the color scheme is the only reason don’t know crap about either of these 2)

@@Mojo1356 He was talking about how Mewtwo vs Shadow had less to say about Shadow and i put the timestamp there because that's where the sentence started. To be fair Mewtwo and Shadow do have pretty strong connections even if most of it stems from the first Pokémon movie for Mewtwo: both were genetically created to be the ultimate lifeform by scientists who intended to use the fruits of their research to save a young girl related to them (Doctor Fuji's daughter Amber and Professor Gerald's granddaughter Maria respectively) but said girls ended up dying anyway which lead to Mewtwo and Shadow's creators messing with their memories which lead to both of them almost destroying the world until the heroes helped them seeing the errors of their ways and dedicade themselves to the side of good afterwards, they are also stoic yet yet somewhat arrogant due to their great power. There's probably more but those are the most notable connections. Also, Mewtwo vs Shadow is wrong by it's own logic since Shadow was said to match a monster that was about a tenth the size of the moon and put at hypersonic speeds in his base form while Mewtwo was put at escape velocity in it's Y mega form and said to be able to lift a lake. Sure Mewtwo can wipe minds but that doesn't really matter when they said Shadow is faster and didn't give Mewtwo good enough numbers to match Shadow even in his base form since Shadow is far more likely to attack Mewtwo right away then he is to just stand there and let Mewtwo wipe his memories. For my stand on returning characters, i'm fine with it as long as it's not too soon and it feels earned. Either because they have another good match that a lot of people want to see, they were treated poorly in a previous episode or their episode was just bad. I think Shadow falls in most if not all of these catagories so i was glad to see him come back and be treated with respect for once.
