Luton fan here. These new stadiums need stopping. So many memories for millions of us real fans are in these old grounds yet new owners can come and demolish our memories with the promise of a shiny new pile of plastic soulless brick. If these beautiful old stadiums were old houses where a Lord once stayed they’d be given Grade listed protection. I miss the Old Den. Everton moving to a soulless new stadium that’s a copy of Espanyol’s another sickener.

As a Rovers fan our new plastic turned into a premiership winning team. But it’s when your club falls back into demise that you look back on your legacy with a heavy heart. All the town folk walking down to Ewood with their flat caps n rattles scarves a plenty. It’s a sad sight these days

I gave up when they made stadiums all seater and put the prices up..and dibble being on my tail so it was probably a good thing for me..r.i.p..Maine road..loved going there!😉🇪🇬👹

@@mickfoskett6629 yep ludicrous ticket prices, silly kickoff days and Times to accommodate Sky and BT Sports. Corporates and day trippers who jumped on to football after Euro 96 as it became also fashionable. Over inflated transfer fees and Players wages. Type in you tube State of football, Death of a game, Birth of a Monster. Watch it!!! Bring a tear to your eye.

@@craigmullen9046 ..good points there pal I forgot about the crazy different kick off times..just pure greed to suit sky..much fairer when every kick off was at 3 on a Saturday..tbh with you I only watch the prem out of curiosity now..is nowhere near as good as it was..more passion in the lower leagues..I'll give that utube clip a go..cheers!👍👹

The Atmosphere was fucking pitful, that was it for me I'd had enough, City will always be my club, in my blood, but the modern game, keep it!!!

Around 79 spurs were away to Forest first game season Wall home to Newcastle I remember the tubes temporarily closed as some Newcastle apparently went down the tube tunnel .Spurs arrival at St Panceras then went to Kings Cross for Newcastle became lively, another day in London.Just another day soccer in the 70s/80s Every mainline station became a battleground after the matches.

Don't worry most Away teams rarely got a corner awarded to them at The OLD DEN unlike the Post 1993, soulless, sanitized, silent Stadium we moved to half a mile up the road. 28 ears on and I miss The Old Den atmosphere every day and I'm 67..lol

@@Isleofskye I didn’t realise I’d already commented here. A year after my first I commented about the new soulless stadiums replacing our beautiful older stadiums. Our memories are not worth shit because the old grounds are demolished without much talk and a greasy palm. If these grounds were older houses where a Lord once stayed they’d be Grade listed and protected. Millions of our memories don’t count but one wealthy man’s do!! Tories OUT.

@@jamisbillson4872 I agree with 99% of your post but I lived next to the largest Housing Estate in Northern Europe with THe Labour Party National HQ in my High Street and saw the goings on at THe Ultra Left Greater London Council and worked for 3 left wing Councils at Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark and a Nationalised Industry for 16 years,as well so be careful what you wish for, politically. my friend. @@Isleofskye this is what the Tories want. I'm not Labour. Like almost everyone I claim to be a free thinker. But unlike almost everyone I can back that up. I like parts of left and right wing policies. Nationalism has some brilliant ideas. I think Labour are pathetic. They're terrified of doing or saying the wrong thing instead of just doing or saying what's right. Brexit and this breed of Tory is treasonous. Putin's Brexit has damaged us all financially (except the wealthy as usual).Labour survives off hundreds of thousands of small donations from the people. The Tories survive off less than 50 donations from the super rich including dozens of donations from Russian oligarchs. One son of a KGB colonel even being knighted by Alexander Johnson. Interesting that Johnson chose Boris...a traditional Russian name to be called. Without a free press we play with fire. Rupert Murdoch has a lot to answer for. Including Donald Trump and his MAGAmorons. Again seemingly funded by Russia. But Labour are the enemy!!!!! Come on mate.

I have always had a dislike for millwall I went to palace around 69 I was a liverpool skinhead we got ambushed by millwall after the game so pleased everton gave them a hiding in 73 though I with a lot of other liverpool supporters joined the everton mob for revenge and believe me revenge was sweet
