Fighterz is an amazing love letter to dragon ball fans. The graphics, the dramatic finishes and special intros/dialogue and the way each characters moveset is ripped straight from the show/movies. Easily my second favorite fighting game after Smash Bros. I’m so excited for Sparking Zero as that looks promising.

So in the Janemba movie, a demon boy accidentally absorbs a massive amount of evil souls which transforms him into Janemba. Gogeta uses the Stardust Breaker to purify the demon boy of all those evil souls that he absorbed and it turns him back to normal which is what the POV shot in the game was about. Yeah the second Broly movie had the Family Kamehameha. Also what Goku did against Kefla was charge up the Kamehameha and used the orb shape of it to slide down her blast to dodge it so he could fire it point blank ^^

Great video, Blaze! Fun fact about me : the Dragonball mangas are among the first things I've read in my life. When I was around 5 or 6, we had all the mangas from 1 to 40 at home (so from the beginning to the Buu saga I think), so when I learned to read, I've read those (and my parents wonders why I'm weird 😂) While I didn't read or watch anything else Dragonball, this series still have a little place in my heart.

FighterZ differs from most of other dragon ball fighting games in the sense that it's not a dragon ball like the others, it's a fighting game with dragon ball characters, but they just blended in the manga/anime references as their movesets, and it's so well done

It transformed him into a being of pure evil known as "Janemba". At the end of the film, Goku and Vegeta, who were both dead, fused together to form Gogeta and used a move called the Soul Punisher/Stardust Breaker which destroys all forms of evil upon making contact. Janemba, who was a being of pure evil, got purified and reverted back to the Demon Kid from before, but upon seeing Gogeta staring down at him with a serious look, he ran off. Gogeta then smiled at the end, indicating he was glad that the kid was safe.

Gogeta vs Janemba is from the non canon fusion reborn movie, but unlike in game the Gogeta that fought Janemba is a regular SSJ. But you play as Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta in this game. So in his dramatic finisher he flexed and quickly reverts to base and transform to regular SSJ just to finish him off lol

It's kinda incredible how close they got with Gokus expression after he blasted Frieza. That one is like... ALWAYS not accurate, even in 2D renditions of the scene. This mix of anger and remorse mixed with some pity from Goku realizing not all enemies can be saved. That's REALLY hard to pull off on 3D especially.

So in the Jamenba movie the afterlife has these big tanks that contain the evil removed from purified souls. A careless teen demon worker was goofing off dancing to music allowing a tank to rupture and he gets infected with evil, turning into Janemba. The move Gogeta used is most commonly known as either Soul Punisher or Stardust Breaker. What it does is erases evil. In the movie this move erases all the evil infecting Janemba, turning him back into the young teen again. Fun fact Gogeta uses this movie on the Super version of Broly and it doesn't kill him showing that while that movie Broly was raging, he wasn't evil. Another fun detail. Gogeta powers down from Blue to SSJ in this scene to match the Janemba movie as obviously Blue didn't exist at that time. Funny thing about the Bardock going SSJ scene, people have done the math and even using Bardocks most generous power level of 10,000, going SSJ following the guide books 50X power boost for SSJ would put Bardock at 500,000. For context Frieza FIRST form has a power of 530,000, Frieza in this game is in his final form which has a power level in the millions. So realistically SSJ or not doesn't matter, Bardock has absolutely no chance against Frieza either way. The scene of Gohan, Goku, & Goten firing a triple Kamehameha at Broly comes from Broly: Second Coming. In the movie even with the 3 of them Broly is pushing their beam back. It's Trunks that does something that disrupts Broly from being able to keep powering his big ball up, and that's when the Family Kamehameha is able to break through and blast Broly into the sun. Yeah that don't explain that in the show either. Trunks just feels the hope of the people of his future, knows how to channel energy in a Spirt Bomb fashion... someone, and is able to shape it into a sword because... reasons. Super is the definition of cool ideas, often bad execution getting to said ideas. The scene with Kefla was Goku starting to unlock Untra Instinct, this is a form where Goku's body reacts on it's own, on instinct to danger making him incredibly fast as nimble as Goku doesn't have to think before moving, he just moves. In the shows version of this scene Kefla thinks she has Goku as Goku is in the air when she fires the beam, he has no stage or debris to push off of. So instead of dodging Goku uses his Kamehameha to slide along the side of Kefla's beam then blast her. SSJ4 Gogeta is pretty much the sole representation of SSJ4 in FighterZ sadly. GT Goku has an ultimate move where he turns SSJ4 for the Dragon Fist, but yeah basically it's just Gogeta. SSJ4 Goku & SSJ4 Vegeta never made it in as separate characters.

Gogeta did his signature move the spirit punisher what it does is if the person he uses it on have any type of evilness in them it gets rid of it in janembas case he's a pure evil entity so it just erased him completely and the host of janemba the pov you was in got freed from janemba
