I live and farm in Northwest Illinois and enjoy your videos. You two are wonderful in front of the camera. My Dad loved baked apples but his favorite was apple dumplings. He would put them in a bowl and pour cream from our cows over it.

I'm about to put five more of these in the oven. I did a trial run last night with four little small apples and I learned a few things like I needed to keep my pie crust chilled. At least I had no trouble preheating the oven 😋 I decided to brush the egg wash over the outside and sprinkle cinnamon sugar Thanks again for the recipe! I've never actually eaten an apple dumpling before and I'm 62 so it's about time!

I decided to make these for Thanksgiving. I have both vegetarian and dairy-allergy folks in my house and this will work fine (with plant-based butter). Plus, I've never had an apple dumpling, but loved "The Apple Dumpling Gang" movie. I've made the pie crust twice so far. First time it was falling apart, second time I added additional water and it was PERFECT! Thanks, Grammy! I used to go to my Aunt Irene for traditional family recipes while she was living, and now Grammy takes care of us all! :-)

I even talked to my moms about them and she watches every cooking channel under the sun and has for like 10 years and she has never heard of that way either..... But it does not matter cause they look soo bangin

It's quite common for Apple dumplings to be made with whole apples. In fact I've never in my 65 years seen them any other way.

I have a similar recipe for a McDonald’s cheeseburger casserole, biggest difference is some relish mixed in and top it with canned croissant dough. You’re Big Mac sauce looked good, I need to try and make some.

WOW!!! I had no idea that apple dumplings were soooo easy!!!! Now to just figure out how to make the dough!!!!!! Lmao😂wow I bet they are delicious!!!!! Ya I think you are supposed to cook them until when you push on them with the back of a spoon the apple inside mushes down. At least that’s how I’ve always had apple dumplings the apple is a cross between apple pie and apple sauce. So I would say I’d cook them for 30mins with foil over them and then uncover and bake for 30mins so they will get the crust brown. That way the apple will be cooked inside. Just a thought but maybe it’s a regional texture thing me being from Canada? 😂🥰❤️🇨🇦🙏🏻🍁 LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! Great idea eating at home and making your own food, much better and healthier then any “fast food” I swear in another 50 years we will find out that the fast food of today wasn’t fit for human consumption!
