This looks delicious! Also, I want to say thank you for showing your "mistake" when the caramel boiled over - I think a lot of people would have done it the same way, so now we all know! I'm glad that it seems nobody got a bad sugar burn. It would have been very easy to cut that moment out and just say later "don't add the baking soda too soon or it'll boil over", but you left it in for us :)

I made 6 gallons of homemade caramel corn this week. My recipe calls for corn syrup and it never occurred to me that maple syrup could be used instead. I bet yours is delicious and I'm sorry I won't be able to try it out until some point next year. I also add cocktail peanuts to mine. Thank you for another wonderful video. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

@buckonono799611 ай бұрын
@@Cassieroll I pour the caramel over the popcorn and then dump the nuts on top before stirring. They don't stick to the popcorn but are a nice addition. I make it every year because the family all asks for it. I'm really looking forward to trying out the maple syrup version!

I make maple flavored popcorn. After the corn pops, I put it into a large bowl, then melt some butter in the pan and add some maple syrup to it. I pour the maple and butter mixture over the popcorn, add salt and mix it together. It is a little sticky, but does not clump up at all. Delicious! Sometimes I grate some sharp cheddar cheese over the popcorn instead of using maple syrup. Also delicious!

My mother was a candy maker and often had her batches start to boil over. She would take a larger tablespoon of cream and drip some of the cream into the boiling candy. Just a few drops settles it right down and of course you don't want to use any more than a few drops at a time. She did it when she made peanut brittle, caramel and fudge. I miss her peanut brittle at Christmas time. It was so delicious and a special treat.
