Random thing to note: The enemy sponges will always paint under itself indefinitely, even after you paint under it, so that may also affect point results, it also can mean you can reach 9999 points on all stages with a sponge if you're patient enough to paint under it the whole time

i made a rule to this to only paint under the enemy sponge once, so it will still be valid towards turf points despite it always being painted by enemy ink, hence why i used the sloshing machine instead of the gold aerospray so i dont accidently paint under the enemy sponge too much

I am thinking that maybe some maps calculations could be made by the poligon counts on some shapes... and maybe Nintendo changed some assets of that to make those less glitchy or something, and maybe that internal change that doesn't change the map from the outside, maybe it affects that counter, but rarely people pays attention to that detail, and so Nintendo just don't tell that detail (or even they don't know lol XD). But I'm not expert on any of these. It is just a random hypotesis I made up.

Sturgeon point difference is the cause of the conveyor walls dynamically changing to he counted as floors (giving points) throughout your recon

I'm guessing due to shooter and sponge shenanigans some stages couldve been smaller, or you missed some surfaces, or the weapon used made it count differently, but Sturgeon goes unexplained

variance probably boils down to RNG with your weapon placing ink on inkable surfaces that are "out of bounds" e.g. inkable floors that are clipped a bit into walls

I don’t know what process to paint on Sturgeon Shipyard you used, but remember, walls don’t give you turf points, SS has ramps that lift from horizontal to vertical position, you only get the full points when either of the 2 inkable surfaces of the ramps are 100% facing upward and the points may cahmge value when you paint them while the ramps are lifting or falling

when it comes to those SS moving platforms, only 1 side will be counted for turf points, no matter what orientation theyre at, and dont worry, i made sure that one side was completely covered on all 4 platforms

the way those moving platforms on sturgeon work is that ONLY one side is counted to the total turf point counter, so all those spots that i "missed" do not count towards the point counter, shouldve explained this in the video to be fair
