Davey Kemsley is from just outside Edmonton Alberta Canada it was a 16 hour haul for him. He is a legend in the derby community up here. He will drive 12 hours and win a derby. Love the old iron derby classes like this.

Man I haven’t seen derby’s like this since I was a kid…. I’m 41, and in New York ya can’t find anything like this any more…. We have the hemlock fair and this is what my childhood was, big real cars and hitting hard. I even remember the days before they required boat tanks in the cars… there was gasoline and fires Everywhere it was amazing and freaking dangerous… all I wanted to do as a kid was drive cars like this in the derby but as I became a more sane adult I realized I prob shouldn’t do it. 😋 awesome videos

I'm from the u.k, I used to do banger racing in the 90's, the DD's you guys have in the US look fun, even though the speeds are quite low. What I want to know is why you re direct the exhaust headers through the hood?

Why are they so worried about bumpers at derbies?
@Dustin-sp8uiАй бұрын
They can go through the floor and injure the driver. They will also stop for axles and springs for the same reason and they can be thrown out of the track and injure the patrons
@joewie94913 ай бұрын
Is itban illegal hit if you hit the drivers door? I think it was a long time ago.
@joewie94913 ай бұрын
I meant is it an illegal hit
@All4HimRacingVideos3 ай бұрын
@joewie9491 it's is if the car is sitting still. The issue is guys will use it as a shield as they would rather be hit in the door versus take a hit to the wheel. With the good roll cages in these cars they can take it. It is still frowned upon but if both cars are moving it can be hard to decide if something was a real accident

@All4HimRacingVideos3 ай бұрын
@fuzzypeach I've seen cars run over bumpers and they rip through floor and into drivers compartment. Pretty dangerous actually
@fuzzypeach3 ай бұрын
@@All4HimRacingVideos really? Even at the low speeds in derbies? They dont do that in the u.k in banger racing and the cars are pushing speeds of 60/70 mph

@@fuzzypeach yea, these aren't low speeds. This is very different from banger racing.

I hate seeing these old iron cars in a wire class. I’d much rather see them built to the hilt. Do these old relics some justice rather than one and done.

Can't stand sand baggers. If you don't want to play the right way, don't play at all. Where I raced they would paint a flower on your door and tell everyone else that that's the car to hit.
@evanpauley98314 ай бұрын
Dude what are you talking about they were all hitting hard you definitely need to put your glasses on stop whining and complaining I see no sandbagging
@motorcitywestauto46744 ай бұрын
@@evanpauley9831 Seriously? Obviously you never raced. I don't argue with people that only drive the bleachers. Maybe you should watch it again.

I agree with you! The dude that won was sand bagging the entire first half of the race. I hate that!
@motorcitywestauto46744 ай бұрын
@@rodvanness3973 I don't understand it. It's a contact sport. Hits are supposed to be aggressive. If all you want is a prize, go play T-ball. Everyone gets a ribbon. I have no problem with strategy and not trashing your car in the first minute, but I looked for cars that looked too clean and would do everything I could to push those car on the wall.
