Old Is Gold "Live Concert by Darjeeling Carnival Band" Part I

I had the fortune to visit Darjeeling in 2014 I remember it was Oct 14th and I stayed there for almost a week before proceeding to Pelling and then to Gangtok before returning back to Kerala. I was staying at the Elgin Resort, close by there was a Nepali Community Hall close to the Centre Square. It was the time of the Cultural Programme. Several artistes sang with Live Orchestra. Mere Sapno ki Rani was one of them and a Nepali song 'Sentaram Sentaram'. For several years thereafter, I searched for that song and finally I got it. Every moment I spent over there is still fresh in my minds. Lot of childhood memories were rekindled. Lazing around in the Cement Benches in the Centre Square and watching the people go around their daily tasks is an unforgettable scene. At one corner, a Horse was tied to a pole and was grazing on cut grass, while people just moved from here to there. At one end, there's an Excellent view point of Kanchenjonga. I got a much closer view of Kanchenjonga, when I was in Pelling. Today, watching this programme has re kindled those memories. Thanks for the entire team for creating such beautiful moments. Love and respect to people from Darjeeling. I’ve been to this queen of hills several times. I feel right at home there. I still have many friends who are from there. The whole area is very musical. I feel like nepali music industry is not complete at all without musicians and singers from darjeeling and surrounding areas. Not just music industry, every aspect of Nepali industry is incomplete without Darjeeling. I just love everything about this place.

Carnival of Darjeeling is so good an old group of melody. It has profound musicians a group of melodies under the great music director a legend of Darjeeling sri lomjel. Entertaining darjeeling since long. Long live CARNIVAL of DARJEELING. We will be pleased enough if Mr. Lomjel produce Darjeeling type more Nepali melodious songs for us. Because Darjeeling is a land from where Nepali music has spread all over the world. So why we imitate others, produce our own heart touching ones. JAI Gorkhaland.

The singers and musicians both are excellent. Proud of the fact that our country is so full of talented people. Little sister you sing so well. Please dont mind my poing out that you should improve your diction to help you reach perfection. For example its राज़, मंज़िल ( sounds zzzz..) not राज, मंजिल । And you should use श (shhh) in place of स wherever applicable.

Carnival always rocks. I do miss my classmate Kundan in St Joseph's College who was a great violinist but Darjeeling never gave him what he deserved. We should not make or repeat same mistake again. Love U Carnival.
