don't get me wrong, joji's newer music is still cool, but his earlier work during the chloe burbank and lost instruments era just felt so magical, it elicits certain emotions that I never knew I even had before, whenever I'm feeling down or alone I normally play some of the songs in this playlist and it does wonders. now that I'm older, whenever I listen to these songs they hit me with a lot of nostalgia, taking late night walks and playing joji and waiting for the ballads 1 drop. Its sad to see the route he's going with 88rising considering that he didn't really write any of the songs on smithereens, as well as it being a relatively short album after waiting quite a while for him to drop a new project, but hey, at least his older music will never get old.

I'm currently 23 and I remember coming across this version of Joji by accident when I was 16. It took me a couple seconds to realize that he was filthy frank, I was so shocked to even think how a man who made the most out-of-pocket content could make such chill and relaxing music. I often associated this era with some chill and good memories from a simpler time. I don't want to sound like a hater towards his newer stuff, but it seems like I just resonate with older works better than his newer projects. Just looking back, it brings a sense of melancholy for a time that is long gone. Either way, I am happy that joji is making it big.

Shiiiit, I guess ill jump in too. I'm 22, and I was actually introduced to this side of George first by a friend back in 2015 via his sound cloud. I knew of his filthy frank/Pink Guy content but wasn't really a fan of his until late 2016 when he was pretty much at the end of his KZbin career. needless to say, I got caught up on most all of the content I missed and became a full fledged fan right at the beginning of his official transition to his joji persona, and away from his FF and Pink Guy personas, and the rest is history.

Ahh good olé mid 2010’s Joji, reminds me of Highschool, the morning rides on the bus to and from school, going out for lunch with the boys, meeting new people in class, teacher lore, falling in love, skateboarding in the hallways, Joji was there for all of it. We need more of that Chloe Burbank style to come back and it’s pretty clear the old boy loves these songs to this day.

i adore these old tracks. such a tender personal feel to them. i love that lofi style of production, where you dont hide the seams of your creation, you can hear joji hitting the spacebar to end his recordings lol. when i was like 16 his stuff got me onto so many other artists. got me producing too, his stuff is relatively simple, but capturing that romantic/melancholic vibe is the very difficult part. by the end of this year i think ill try to put out some stuff like this, like an ode to chloe burbank i guess.

Im pushing through to be a better man, a good husband, and a father one day. Life was once truly hopeless, same for my wife when she was younger. We have been what I can only call blessed. We have faced troubles together that seemed impossible, but with love we have made it through. We are going to push together for a good time in our lives together. I know that I have to push 10x as hard as I think the next guy will. I have to ensure a stable life that I didnt have growing up. Discipline, strength, love, humility, integrity .
