Old Ladys first time - Nightwish - Wish I Had An Angel - Old Guy Reaction

OK so I showed this old Lady a Nightwish song. Now this old lady was probably a teen in the 50s so she does not understand metal. She read into the song Wish I Had An Angel like crazy. Talking about how the guy was playing an evil character etc. Lol
Forgive us for not understanding all music as we see it. I absolutely loved it though. The singer "Floor Jansen" is awesome.

Nightwish songs are very complex, deep, intelligent and typically a true message put in a form of a poem.....just awesome.....pls. just do more.

Most Nightwish fans prefer live performances as they are excellent. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboardist, writes most of the songs and his lyrics are much deeper than the usual pop/rock 3 minute nonsense.

Hi Old Guy! Glad you've found Nightwish - this is a great video. With regard to lyrics, while it may be true that "most metal songs don't have the deepest message," Nightwish is an exception and the lyrics are usually not only exceptional, but can often be interpreted more than one way with each interpretation having merit. The videos on the Nightwish KZbin channel www.youtube.com/@nightwish frequently have the lyrics in the closed captions (the "CC" button on the video control bar just left of the "settings" gear icon), so if you want to see the lyrics without looking them up separately you can often get them that way. If the video from the Nightwish KZbin channel doesn't have the lyrics, usually the same video on the record label's channel will have them in the "CC"s (e.g. Nuclear Blast Records versions - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrNep9-jKd0jNE). Oh boy, you are in for a ride. Most of the songs have a deep meaning. Usually, the lyrics are very poetly. This song was with Nightwish's original singer, Tarja Turunen.

Tarja, our dark angel 🖤 I love her voice and her combination with the demonic Marko is just perfect. I love Nightwish the most in Tarja's era with their the Beauty and the Beast concept. You should listen Nightwish cover Phantom of the Opera (official live) from End of an Era concert. It was Tarja's last concert with Nightwish. After that she started her solo career as metal, rock and classical singer. She is the best for me. Marko left Nightwish two years ago. Tarja is a co-founder of Nightwish and was with them for 9 years. Anette replaced Tarja in Nightwish in 2007, and since 2012 Floor has been their lead singer. With each female singer, Nightwish's music evolved in a different direction. Each song of Nightwish has a very deep poetics and is full of symbols, the sole author is Tuomas, keyboardist and sole composer.

Noticed in your description you said this was Floor, but this singer is actually Tarja Turunen, bands original singer. Anyway, Tuomas, the keyboardist and guy who writes all the music for Nightwish, came up with the concept for this song as he was out at a bar with his girlfriend and all the guys were hitting on her despite she & him obviously being together. Anyway, to see their current singer Floor Jansen at her best, check out Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013.
