Two points on the dipstick check, in my experience you never screw it in to check, simply rest it on the hole, second the bike should be upright and vertical to ensure that the oil is level in the engine or is there something different with the zontes?

Do you recommend 5w40 more then 10w40? I read about clutch slipping problem with thinner oil ,thanks again for your attention and videos mike!

Sorry I missed your post, on the 310 the 10 w40 is fine it's lower price the bike has two oil pumps to get it up through the frame to cool and is thicker when hot, yet the 5 w can be used, I have not heard of clutch slip happening, yet the newer models have slipper clutches for smoother downshifting etc at higher revs , stops rear wheel lock

True, I would go for 5w 40 or standard 10w 40

I'd be interested to know why you would say not to use the clearly superior oil in fully synthetic over mineral oil, what are your reasons 🤔

​@@michaelphillips1959both of these can be had as full synthetic which is hugely superior to semi synthetic oil or mineral, and there is nothing about the engine which would preclude using the better oil
