Old Man Emu 2 inch HD Lift install For the Wk / XK

In this video ill be showing how I installed a Old Man Emu OME HD 2 Inch lift onto my 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee Wk. Ill be showing Tips and Ticks to make it easier if your also insulating a lift on your WK / XK. By installing this lift I was able to fit 285/75/17 Bfg Km3s and 17 inch AEV Painter Wheels.

Awesome video, having just done this job on the 5.7 hemi I found it easier and less fiddly to do the upper control arms first and then fit the struts

I have the exact same set up, its the same color as well. I did the Rocky Road level kit as well. I am running 265/70 on the stock rims, I do get some rubbing when turning sharp under power. Not sure where its coming from, I dont see any rub marks on the tires. I think its because of the stock rims though, I need a different offset like the ones you have. I am planning on putting Rubicon rims on it down the road. Great video.

I had an 07 WK Overland with the diesel 3.0, same lift " OME hd ' with Rocky Road spacers on top of the struts and longer JBA uca's Best I could get was 265's on it. Even with the pinch weld mod Thinking it was the extra weight of the diesel engine

the 5.7 weighs nearly the same with the 3.0. Are you sure it was a HD lift because I am looking to fit one in a 3.0 Commander?

By the way, that little wire on the strut is not your abs wire. It's a wheel speed sensor for your 4x4/AWD.

Damn the tires r huge. Did u had to use wheel spacers to make the fit or just do the pinch weld and a 2inch lift?

19:11 just check on the mod to be sure mud isn't being caught in the pinched area. I like the idea but it seems like it will cause rust problems due to moisture retention.

I got the deluxe kit with the spacer for the font cause all the stock stuff on mine was clapt out. And I haven’t got the control arms yet as of now I don’t think I need them that bad it just rubs a bit at full drop.

I noticed your airdam is removed, have you had any problems doing that? I want to remove mine off my 06 Cherokee, but I’m worried because I heard something could like I guess get sucked in or cause hood flutter have you experienced any of that?

that pointless bit of plastic is the first thing i pulled off mine, and all the foam and plastic covers on the engine, foam got melted by fuel from bad injector leak gone unnoticed by previous owner. awful mess

You dont need a wheel spacers for this tires??? I put in the mine 265/70/17 BF and need to put a 2" wheel spacers because the tires touch the stabilizer bar and the upper arm.

It rubs at full lock on the frame. I put 1inch and a half spacers on it and now it rubs on the pinch weld. Ive already done the pinch weld mod too to the front.

easier to use a sawzall and cut the bolt off I did and then once you replace the axles and front diff a couple times you will have them bolts easy to take off ....lol....I have to get a front lower control arm drop kit...not a front diff drop..not yet....

Its the OME HD kit from Offroad Outfiters. You can add other options though them like the front strut completely assembled the levining puck for the front struts and there beefer control arms.

nope drives better than stock
