They most likely drew that data by analyzing the age range of his victims prior to containment. You should watch “Ethics Committee orientation” by TheVolgun to explain how The Foundation tends to operate in terms of ethics.

I am glad someone said it. It is much easier to just see who he kills prior to his containment, or who he targets after he breaks it. A D class is almost certainly used for that specific case. Maybe a site employee in an extreme example. There is no reason a child would be used like that.

Most videos for newbies about scp are good for understanding the structure and expectation regarding the whole scpverse, but doesnt do well conveying the motives and reasoning of SCP foundation itself. SCP Ethics Comittee orientation does this well.

Since so many seemed confused, Object Class means how difficult it is to contain them, NOT how dangerous they are. The Old Man is very dangerous, but nowhere near the worst. He gets a Keter because it is nearly impossible to keep him contained if it really wants to leave.

Not going to lie, if you would've reacted to the femur breaker sound effect, it would've added to the experience. It is genuinely terrifying to hear. The voice actor who did the screams for the femur breaker sequence in the containment breach game put EVERYTHING he had into that scream, making it seem real, as if someone was actually having their femur broken by a hydraulic machine. The SCP Foundation is terrifying. I do want to warn you about one of the most fucked up SCPs and that is the SCARLET KING. The ROUTINE prevention protocol that the SCP Foundation does to make sure that the scarlet king DOES NOT AWAKEN is absolutely disturbing and is downright evil. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH OR DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT DISTURBING SHIT HAPPENING TO INNOCENT PEOPLE.

Most of the scarlet king stuff is if we write down and tell people and make them believe these procedures are happening it works the same a doing it because the scarlet king can understand emotions but not people more complex thoughts so he can be tricked

Fear Alone provides a nicer interpretation that might cheer her up after the original article.

As messed up as the SCP Foundation can be they do have some limits that they only push in the most extreme of situations. So the 10-25 age range was most likely figured out through observation of pre-containment victims and not because they tried using younger and younger people to figure the range out. The only reason they'd end up doing that is if SCP-106 stopped going after older d-class and they were pushed into having to figure out what would work. Using children for experimentation is something the SCP Foundation would avoid unless there was no other option. Unless the scientist heading the experimentation is one of the more messed up and crazy ones then they might do it, but I think they'd still avoid it. I think TheVolgun did a video about the ethics committee which would be a good one to check out to get a feel of how they approach stuff like that. @@samwallaceart288 Fun fact about that one is it's actually fake. The Foundation actually faked the information in the file because they know people have infiltrated the Foundation. And are trying to bring about the Scarlet King, and those cultists created false information to make the Foundation think that the last survivor if she gives birth it will bring untold destruction to the world like the other ones. The Foundation actually managed to discover the truth before even trying to stop her from giving birth. And the truth was the 7th wife might not of turned evil so the child of the 7th women might not be evil and would be the only thing that would have a chance to stop the Scarlet King. So they allowed her to give birth as a gamble hoping that the 7th wife of the Scarlet King that was connected to the 7th women hadn't been corrupted and turned evil. And they won the gamble she hadn't become evil so when the women gave birth she gave birth to SCP-999. Our happy go lucky little slime that makes everyone around it happy.

Most SCP entities existed before the Foundation contained them, and often have a body count before the Foundation catches up. We don't figure out that a serial killer likes women between 15 and 30 by sending people into his cell and waiting to see which ones come back alive, we look at the trail of bodies we followed to end up catching them and see what those bodies had in common.

The origin story on this one is even more interesting than the containment procedure. That's a WW1 soldier who disappeared in the trenches. It's creepy as HELL.

Being a WW1 soldier that stumbled upon an anomaly which transformed him into 106 is a possibility. That's *one* theory on 106's origin. There's another popular theory that's tied in with SCP-3001; The Red Reality. In that file, it seems possible that the Old Man is none other than Dr. Scranton, the researcher that invented the Scranton Reality Anchors used by the SCP Foundation. As a potential consequence, 106's pocket dimension where he tortures his victims may very well be the Red Reality itself, after having been changed while he was trapped in it.

I can't remember the number but one of the SCPs involves a school bus that is filled with copy's of the same child, only odd thing about them is that there are so many but the can't let a dozen little Timmy's out into the world so they use them as D class. Foundation personnel who injure a "luring subject" *have to* keep him conscious because it's the screams being piped over the intercom system that lures 106 back. If they knock out the subject, they're just defeating the purpose of injuring him in the first place. As far as it goes with the Foundation knowing that 106 prefers victims between 10-25 years old, remember that he was out & about, acting freely, for quite some time before the Foundation knew about him. But they would have also checked police reports, interviewing the families, & other research about the victims. Besides that, there *are* criminal children who have even been convicted to prison life sentences for crimes up to & including murder. Admittedly they are few & far between but who's to say that the Foundation hasn't occasionally acquired a few to add as D-Class? Even so, if they live long enough, they grow up anyway. Plus, there have been some security breaches when 106 left the facility completely & they will do additional investigation (usually to interview witnesses, check for sightings report, & then using amnestics to cover it up). He mostly stays inside the facility after breaching his cell; after all, there are already soooo many potential victims just running around much closer...

You need to check out SCP-6320. It’s a really short article, but what’s important, is that there’s a companion podcast called Find Us Alive. It’s written and produced by the same author, and features an AMAZING voice cast, story and music score. (And I know for a fact that the team would love a reaction. It’s currently almost 50 episodes long, and each episode averages 15-25 minutes, with a new episode releasing on the first Friday of every month.

I like how half of this video is Alicia discussing some fan made model which isn't even "that" accurate to the description. But yeah anyways this SCP really shows how Messed up the foundation itself is though I though I'm pretty sure they changed to simply pre recorded sound effects of the victims they sacrificed before in order to not have to bloody sacrifice children all the time. But yeah... there's so much more better options it's just that this is the easiest and most convenient for the organization. Heck if anything the entire SCP foundation is doomed to fail just because of the amount of negative karma they've been stacking up XD. Like honestly with some SCP's like this I'm just like... either try to destroy it with another SCP or just bloody shoot it into the sun. You might need a pretty big rocket so it can contain him long enough but honestly even if he starts breaking out he's just going to gravitate into the sun regardless and in empty space he can't really achieve anything. Basically all you have to make sure to do is make it hard enough to breach the containment that he can't do it within the time it takes to get out of earth's gravity and preferably during one of his "dormant" states. As long as you calculate everything right ahead of time it would work. Worst case scenario he ends up on Venus or Mercury which... if he survives that somehow (Venus is pretty deadly) all we have to do is "not go to venus" But honestly I doubt there isn't just an SCP that can take care of him or trap him. It's just that on average the SCP organization just chooses to "secure and contain" rather than also *use* other SCP's in order to disable or destroy each other.

There is an Scp I can't remember the number but it's a bus that has a child that was on it and every few days/weeks it releases a clone of said child and because the clones are anomalies the foundation keeps them but there are so many and keep spawning so fast a scientist asked the O5 if they could use them as test subjects to which they agreed because it was a better option then kidnapping a random innocent kid to sacrifice in some horrificly painful death to an SCP that need child sacrifices
