I am 65 and still love riding the trails, the secret is is not to fall off as it bloody hurts! The more the older you become, the longer the recuperation takes.

I'm 54 & I mountain bike 4 times a week. When I was a child I used to race BMX bike for years. When I was in 20's I became a bike messenger for six years in New York City. I now live in Connecticut and I love mountain biking.

I just turned 56. I regularly podium in local XC races in my category and when I compare my times I would’ve podiumed I the 30+ and 40+ categories as well. I have a resting heart rate of 45-47. (Was up to the mid 70s) Blood pressure is around 120/68 (was as high as 160/90) and my max heart rate lately is 177. That’s on a hard climb. My average heart rate during a hard race is around 167. Yea..mountain biking is just awesome. What’s even more fun is just getting out in the woods away from all the day to day BS. Oh, and respect to this guy hitting these jumps. That is not the mountain biking I do. I wish I could but….I’m 56, lol

That's pretty awesome, man! Keep at it. I just turned 56 as well my self, never been into racing but mountain biking sure keeps me in shape, physically and mentally. I've been riding somewhat aggressive for several years now, trying to keep up with my younger riding buddies. I met Jamie this past summertime and it's pretty cool to ride with someone close to my age that has a similar riding style. Thanks for the comment and keep the rubber side down 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

OY YOU !!!!!!! Less of the “old” at 55yrs, I’m 56yrs 😂😂😂 Boys I have to say this. What an inspiration to watch and thoroughly enjoyed watching it over and over. The only problem at our age, we don’t bounce right well when we fall off and if we do at our age, it’s straight to hospital. 😂 You guys are an inspiration 👍

At 64 this year I have to start at a lower level of trail, but over winter I got bike, still need a helmet for trails too. Going to start with about 14 mile round-trip out an old hyway and back to get things used to it again. Haven't rode in about ten years.

Nice riding gentlemen!! I'll be 59 in 3wks and aggressive ride/train on an old school (2008 Rocky Mountain Flatline) 44lb DH bike that I converted to an enduro/all mountain rig, by switching it to 1x, adding a dropper, a 90mm stem, and old-school climbing bars. I don't usually jump, but I try to ride the wheels off it otherwise. Have had a few crashes (aka; "off-the-bike-experiences"), but none resulted in injury. I'm lucky to have a local 1,200' peak just a mile away, that's full of steep techy trails, and a gnarly "loose-over-hardpack" fire road. My skill level will never match the ability of the bike, and that is part of the fun. It's been great cross-training for annual R2R and Rim2River runs at the Grand Canyon (runs...not trotting along with poles and walking all the climbs).
@ramoncervantes58672 жыл бұрын
That's pretty awesome, Todd. I'll hitting the 59 mark here in the next two and a half years and I sure hope that I can keep up this level of riding till then and hopefully beyond that. R2R in the grand canyon is very impressive, congrats man. Thanks for checking out the video and the comment, highly appreciated. Keep on riding 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Been riding for the last 27 years, retired 3 years ago sold the house and have been living full time on the road riding bike park all around the country at 57 years young! I think I’m gonna get a DH bike, I hope I’m riding seriously for the next 10 years!

That's pretty awesome, man! Pretty similar story to mine. I'm 57 and got into riding when I was 36 years old but I've been riding a bit aggressive for the past 15 years or so and hoping to keep it up for another 10 years! If you ever make it to ride the Angel Fire Bike Park in beautiful Northern New Mexico, hit me up and I'll show you around since is my back yard! Great video I'm 52 well in 5 days just got back into MTB in my hay day almost went Pro but my 1st kid stopped that did the right thing. But I should of went Pro. My little P.O.S is now doing 10-40yrs for drugs really like to think he will get it all up his sorry A$$ the crap storm he caused me. This is what I went thru. this being woke up at 4am-ish with SWAT and DEA blasting down your door kicking really kicking the shit out of you only later to find out my P.O.S son was a Liar. But at least they did not shoot my cats A.K.A my real kids. P.S. I did get some $$$$$$$ for there B.S actions but no one should every have to go thru. this B.S. but love your video sorry I had a rant but love your video keep the film rolling.

Thanks man! Bummer about what you went thru. one thing I found out raising my kid is that at the end you really don't know how they gonna end up, only time will tell. you can raising well but if they fall in with the wrong crew that will for sure affect their future. Good to hear that all that is behind you and I'm no doctor but I do know for sure that mountain biking has a special way of healing things up. P.S. don't feel sorry you can rant on my channel anytime you want. Take care and keep on rolling.
