It was recorded in October 2015 when he was at his lowest point physically & mentally. He had been suffering psychosis and was scared of losing his mind (and Bibi who was his gf at the time). This was just months before he was given the correct diagnosis of Lyme Disease, and received his first stem cell transplant, which transformed his health for the better. I am genuinely blown away that someone so ill could manage to create such incredible art. The guy is just incredible.

I feel like everything Ren does is art, but this one to me was the most beautiful pure art that he's done so far. Like always great reaction, I don't even have to listen to click like 😊🖤🤍✨️

Crutch is heartbreakingly beautiful. 💔 I forget when listening that Bibi wasn't really a singer, just his gf and he loved her voice. He is so good at finding people who complement him musically. So sorry you're still having problems with hackers. It sounds like a nightmare.

Yay! Thank you for this! For some reason this one doesn’t get much attention or reactions, but it’s one of my absolute favourite Ren songs. It was written before he was finally correctly diagnosed and didn’t know what was happening to him. It’s just such a perfect expression of agony and fear in lyrics, vocals, music, and even the video. And never has distortion sounded so emotional! Raw, heart wrenching, and stunning piece of art 🖤

I have listened to this song....hundreds of times (no joke, had it on repeat for days) and it still gives me the shivers. The feelings conveyed in this song are just palpable.

YAY!! I've been waiting for u to do this one! I believe it was done in October and Ren thought he was going to get hypothermia from lying on the cold, in the cold. One reactor noted that to get clear picture underwater, the water has to be cool so it doesn't fog the camera. Crazy props to Ren for freezing his a** off for this video. Thank you for doing this one ❤❤❤❤

This is the beauty of the Ren rabbit hole right here - so many incredibly beautiful songs from so many years ago to be uncovered and no two songs the same. I love his older music. Big shout out to Samuel Perry-Falvey for the sensational videography and framing on this video - all done with zero budget and with Ren at one of the lowest points in his illness yet still spending hours and hours on the cold concrete floor.

I've heard this track dozens of times, and there was some influence in it that I just never could quite track. But with your shirt, I finally realized there is definitely some Pink Floyd in the DNA of this track. I've caught other signs of their influence in his music, and it's not at all surprising from a modern musician who grew up in the UK especially.

I'm a little bit surprised that you didn't give a shout out to the video graphics? You usually do. Bearing in mind this was early days and shot on a shoe string budget? Tom really deserves kudos! I've seen other reactors, who come at it from that perspective, who are amazed by the "skin scapes" and the focus on the camera, and the lighting, so that you can actually see the hairs on Ren's body standing up! Also no discussion about what the lyrics meant to him or to you either way? Who was the crutch? Bibi? Why didn't the crutch stay and support or eventually break? One of my favourite songs/videos by Ren. Perhaps you had too much other stuff going on? But that really felt like you were just ticking a request box for the sake of it? Really disappointing actually.
