This was an amassing video! It was so well shot and I really liked the timelapces! Also the music really worked. The huge machine with the pinchers was sick how it sliced up the building. Great video this was a great send off for the old Mount Gambier Hospital you really did it justice.

I will never understand why the old Hospital was never guttered out and made into apartments, as was with the old nursing quarters. Waste of such a nice old building in which I was very proud to of worked within for many years. Thanks for the memories...

I loved the old building. My mother worked there from 1971 until the new hospital was built. I loved the fact that the Mount had a 6 story building. So disappointing the City Council could not have worked with the State Government to purchase the building and sell it to developers. Could have been multi-purpose. The old School of Nursing could have been a university campus. Could have had short-term and long-term residential use. Student accommodation for the uni. So many things. An indictment upon the council, I feel. Lack of vision and enterprise.

This brings back many memories of my time in the “Mount” in the mid 70’s to the earlyish 80’s. My wife was working there when I first met her and our second child was born there as well. Sad to see it go, but I think that the demolition of the first hospital was an even bigger loss.
