It's fun doing rebuilds. Just did one on my 2018 Mountain Cat. Went with Forged Wiseco Pistons, cleaned valves, updated thermostat and put a ADAPT clutch on it. It would make for a good Video. Arctic Cat 925 😉

Just bought a white 2013 m800 last week I am upgrading from a 2001 mountain cat 800, Got it torn down now to go through a list of fixes and a majority of what needs done you have allready done to whitey, thankfull for your vids and keep them comeing, crappy the Alpha is out but pumped to see the 2014 hit snow again!

Check that you have the manual chain tensioner or at least the upgraded model. In 2014 there was a Service Bulletin that had them change all tensioners. The old model uses cotter pins I believe, newer upgraded model had screws. If the tensioner fails it often blows the whole chain case up. The tensioner failed on my 2013 M800 a few years ago. To see if you have the newer model you have to take the cover off and have a look inside.

I was running the Powerbloc on my 15’ M8 two seasons ago. Best upgrade you can do in these sleds

You're forgiven on this being a quickie. Also, I hadn't thought about it, but you are right, there is a handful of Matt's doing sled videos.
@AllajchaSibir Жыл бұрын
Ah, "old" sleds. Just need a little love and they"ll run just as well as the new stuff, especially if it has the old suzuki mill in it. I just rebuild my '15 XF8000 into a wannabe mountain machine with a 153, 2.6" track, TKI belt drive, some new wheels and Pin'd board inserts. Oh and I did the reeds too. Runs like a top and is a blast to tear through the backcountry with. Would I like a newer machine? Sure. Do I need it? Not really, the one I have will do just fine.

custom cut running boards maybe? or go inserts. helps so much having big voids in deep snow and grip = a lot less stucks

I have those reeds on my m8. They’ve been on it ever since I’ve had the sled so i don’t really know what stock is like but they’ve held up good and the throttle response is quite snappy.

I have a 14 m8000 as well. I just installed the pro-tectair kit and silicone sealed the air box. My concern is still that connection point, which I did line with grease to repel water. Have you had any issues with snow ingestion with your 14? It seems the 19 and up design is more prone to it, but it still concerns me. Appreciate any advice.

Thanks for sharing, you have been a great source for me when fixing my 12 xf! How do you connect the headlight on your sled, and will it be the same procedure if i add one light on mine? Would be nice to have better lights when driving in the dark! Keep up the good work Syxxes team💪🏁

You could probably find an aftermarket Y-pipe and pipe at a good price for it.

It’s crazy how many guys out there have an unused, “forgotten” sled in their garage that I (and many I’m sure) would bend over backwards to own as my “main”, one-and-only sled. “Well, all my brand new $30k sleds are broken, so I guess I’ll have to use this dusty old relic sitting in the corner…”
