Beautiful, you and your art. I hope you don't think you're hollow; these enchaments you sing beg to differ.

This is great. I have questions about where you get inspiration. The lyrics were quite poetic. Someone mentioned the Cranberries and they were right(see it as a compliment). Happy late birthday. Growing up never gets old. The context adds clues to the metaphors. Imagine you're this tree. Triumphing through trial and tribulation, but just when you thought you'd finished the hard part you realize you'll be doing this for years to come. The layers are thick with interpretation. "the rain can't quench the roots" makes me think of an individual outgrowing their cage. "she's hollow through and through" this line being so early into the song indicates an early application of character development, in other words you're having to grow up faster than usual. "despite broken roots" reminds me of the disconnect with loved ones after leaving the coop. "now she's home to many" is like how people take memories/attributes from those they've met and live their lives as a walking time capsule of various other people's lives (probably my favorite part). I think rerecording and grading your own work will help you a lot with increasing your confidence. If you ever find yourself stuck between two different takes you could always post both and see what people think.

@@wubster7932 i love your interpretation of the song thank you so much for that. i love the cranberries, especially when i first got into learning guitar, zombie was one of the first songs i’d learnt. there are some artists i definitely aspire to be like but my music is nothing like theirs. although i definitely learnt more about music composition and songwriting from listening to and analysing their songs. adrianne lenker is a really talented artist her songs are always deeply poetic with nature imagery and beautiful so i’d love to be able to write music like hers, i’m in awe of the guitar in her songs. also ethel cain her music is almost heavy with emotion and her ability to tell a story through music is so astonishing. i think she’s endlessly talented and her vocals are insane. i also love stevie nicks. i’ve always loved music in general which is what inspired me to make my own. my song writing process differs, sometimes i’ll have a line or verse written for a while then i’ll just sit down and write the whole song or other times i’ll find a chord progression i really like and just start singing then take parts from that and make a song.

Am I crazy or is this in the same key as "How to Disappear Completely"? (not saying they were your inspiration. I just couldn't help but hear another song when listening. still trying to figure out what it reminds me of.) Anyways I love this. I'd genuinely listen to this often.
