It would be interesting to see an Oddworld game where Abe, Munch, and Stranger all have a run-in with one another. I’m curious what they would think of each other, considering the Fuzzles the Stranger can use for ammunition are the same kinds of creatures Abe and Munch saved from the Vykker laboratories. It’s interesting to have the protagonist of one installment be on opposite sides of the battle from the protagonists of the previous installments, if that’s the case.

I agree about the part where you mention difficulty spikes. I didn't encounter them often. But two which spring to mind are fighting Packrat Palooka and X'plosives McGee. They were bastards to defeat.

I disagree on having a lot of moolah left being a bad thing: you're building up to 20 grand for the surgery, which you can almost only accomplish by capturing a lot of enemies alive. It's part of the story to have a lot of moolah at that stage. And the no incentive for exploration, that's simply false. There is loads of hidden treasure around. The one thing I REALLY liked were the scenarios I could turn into minigames. Like, you can jump across the canyon where you're supposed to lower a bridge and you can launch the second boss due to a hilarious bug. There was also a way to make the cutscenes fast-forward, which was pretty funny. One hell of a game, would recommend any time.

Stranger's wrath is my favorite Oddworld game. An open world western featuring a mysterious badass protagonist that actually rewards you for challenging yourself by bringing in the target alive. And you're gonna need that money because it also features an upgrade system. It oozes personality from the NPC dialogue, the level design and even ammo that talks to you. It takes all the great things of Oddworld and crams it into an open world western bounty hunter simulator. And on Steam it's only 10 bucks now at full price. That's a lot of game for a small price

I love this game, but I have two major gripes with it; Firstly, it ditches the bounty-hunting aspect over halfway through, which is kinda disappointing. Second, the story told in the CGI cutscenes (the intro, the scene with the Doc, the big plot twist partway through) felt deeper than the story told in the game itself; the only major plot development that isn't told in a cinematic involves the Doc when you reach his Mongo Valley office. And after that, when you're dealing with the Grubbs, Stranger just kinda nods and does everything he's told, he has no real development as the story goes on. That's just me, though; everything else about the game rocks - the gameplay, the style, the music...

I completely agree with your two comments! Especially the bounty-hunting ditch. I was also hoping the game would have multiple endings like the other games in the Oddworld series; One for killing most of the foes and one for sparing most of the foes. But nope, that just affects your cash gain.

One bug on the PC-version is that when your framerates go through the roof (superceeding 250 fps or the likes); Stranger can get stuck in the ground, which requires a jump to get unstuck. But the Anti-Aliasing seems to be the biggest impact on the frame-rate, which is handy because the frame-rate limiter doesn't work. So adjust that AA to get a suitable frame-rate.

I can't believe Oddworld is still being made, the last one I knew about was Munch's Odyssey (which was pretty cool), I hope to see and hear more about new ones eventually, but a remake of one that looks pretty fancy is cool. It shows some interest in the series still.

I was really hoping that Stranger (in the bounty half of the game) would get assigned to hunt down Abe and/or Munch, since they already had wanted posters and everything. It would have been awesome to face your past heros! I mean could you imagine trying to avoid Abe possessing you? Or having Munch turn your own Fuzzle ammo against you! Their could even be 2 possibly endings; One where you help them get away and one where you collect their bounty's. This would have been a great way to tie the series together some more.

i was kinda scared at first when i got my oddworld munchs oddysee just changing to the 3d world killed alotta games that went 3d played it loved it then this strangers wrath came out. Then i gatta admit i tossed the idea because of no Abe. But sure enough i went back to it only about a year ago and it blew my mind. Caddicarus all I have to say is im glad there are more people who love Oddworld asmuch as i do :P

Before this video, I hadn't played Stranger's Wrath in months. After this video, I proceeded to play it the next day (The disc doesn't work on my Xbox anymore because the drive is knackered but I had already ripped the iso onto the hard disk)
