Thanks for putting these up. My grandparents were married in St. Dunstan's Feltham and my great grandmother lived on Fruin Road. I was told that the street was named after her mother. I must take a screen shot of the photo of the train carrying Churchill's coffin. I was in the crowd at the crossing.

I was born in feltham 1948 lived on bedfont lane then boundaries road. I left england in 1973 moved too chicago, then hawaii. I now live in thailand. To see old photos of feltham brings back so many memories. I was back there about 10 years ago, it now sucks. What a shame, the whole world is changing and not for the better.

Great memories. I was born and brought up in Bedfont, as was my dad, but I don't live there anymore. Whilst many of the photos are before my time, I recognise most of the locations. It was a much nicer place then than it is now.

Thank you for putting these up. I spent 13 years in Hounslow, Southall and Slough (mostly Hounslow) between the end of '88 and 2001. I loved it then and love it now. The area is constantly changing because of its location and will continue to do so. I arrived just as the Treaty Centre in Hounslow had opened and missed, unfortunately, the buildings that were there previously. Wonderful pics of Inwood Park.

Moved to Rochester Ave, Feltham in 1948 from Woodford Green, Went to school there Feltham Hill and then Longford SM and knew the area well. Very nostalgic for me, especially as I am now living in Melbourne, Australia. I'm 77 yrs old

Born and Bred in Feltham, twas a lovely town back then, not now that it is part of London , would not go back there even if you paid me.

I totally agree. I grew up in Conway Road, Hounslow. The heath and Crane Park were my back yard and playground. They've ruined the place now and destroyed most of the local history.

Thank for sharing these. Bring back a lot of memories. I was born in Bedfont 1959 and lived there for 27 years. I remember going into a lot of those shops as a kid with my parents. Amazing to see the turn of century photos!

27:15 the Powder Mill, Crane Park, most likely a lead shot tower. Much restored in that modern picture. Not how I remember it. No roof or fancy stuff on top in the 60s. You could stand in the bottom and gaze up at the sky. The mill stones were randomly scattered around the park. Where the "nature reserve" is now, there was a large mill pond, with the River Crane running alongside, and a weir to control the water level. They've totally ruined the history of the place.

Freddie Mercury's family home was on Gladstone Avenue, Feltham. I used to deliver the milk as a boy. Also Brian May used to live on Walsham Rd, Feltham. I believe that is where his dad helped him to build his 🎸 guitar.

Back then you could leave your baby in a pram outside a shop while you went in without any harm coming to him or her. How things have changed and not for the better. )-:
