Chris Leone I feel like I'm an old soul too... like I should've been born 100-150 years ago. I recently bought an antique Edwardian dress and when I put it on, I can't help but wonder about the lady who wore it over a hundred years ago.

+Nancy Benefiel I think in England, hats are still popular...but if I went out of the house with one on, people would think I was weird and laugh at me...same as cowboy hats...I guess in the south they are in style, but if a guy is wearing one in our little hick town up north, they would make fun of him...hehe

I have always wanted a Victorian home. Here, in SoCal, it would cost me onwards of 700,000 to well over 1 million dollars (millions and millions, in Los Angeles) to own one. I've always said that I would dress the part, if ever I owned such a home. How could you not?! I dream of winning power ball...one of the first things I would buy.

What is amazing about this video is that most of the people in it are actually smiling and laughing. Most photos of people from the 1800s and early 1900s are of people who look so serious and stern. They always look they don't want to be bothered, but not is this I say about 2/3 of the people look happy in it.The women were gorgeous and classy not to say that a lot of women today don't have that kind of class or presence, but it seems more hidden. The guys however seem like assclowns not all of them but a lot they seem so pissed in almost all the photos.

I have a photo like this of my grandmother as about 3 years old with her mother. My great grandmother was about 25. My mom had gone through some old photos and found this particular one. The resemblance between me and great grandmother was absolutely jaw dropping. I wish I had known about it when I was her age. I could've replicated somewhat. It's fun to think about how it would've turned out.

No my friend you most certainly wouldn't wish you lived in that era !!! People died like flies back then from the most simple things . A simple cold killed hundreds . Not from the disease. But from attempts to CURE it !!! Bleeding in an attempt to control a fever was commonplace and many a hemophilia sufferer met their end because a cure for it was unknown . Measles ,mumps ,bronchitis, accidents , they all took their share. No x-rays to tell a doctor how to set a broken bone he just ground away until it seemed right to him . Never mind how you felt about it ! And if infection set in , no matter , there's always amputation . Try getting a job with only one arm . No social services to help out either .

Ráadásul kalaptűkkel amik akár 30 cm-esek is lehettek, gyilkolni is lehetett vele. Volt már akkor hajsütővas is, amivel azt kockáztatták, hogy leégethették és le is égett nem egyszer a hajuk. Aki akkoriban a kor szépségideáljait a színésznőket követték, könnyen pórul járhattak. És bizony sokan fiatalon haltak meg a szépség miatt.
