Another really good spot to look for coins are under rural route mail boxes. Way back when, there were a lot of coins put in the boxes for the mailman and change was put back for the customer. You be amazed how long mail boxes have been in the same spot

Yep, back when we were younger, drive half a day, stop at a rest area, pull out the picnic basket and eat lunch. Then load back up and drive some more. In todays generation, the rest areas are being over run with illicit activities, or people only stop long enough to let their pets out. They fall into disrepair and the state comes along and bulldozes them down to widen the roads. There is only one left close to me, and as much as I have travelled in my part of the state, I can't tell you where the next nearest one is that is worthy of stopping at.
