Old Roblox, New Roblox, and Nostalgia Blindness

I joined roblox in 2016 and it felt more fun to play then now. I might play roblox once a week because there are not that many fun games and if their are they get updated very rarely or have few players. For me when I started roblox up until now I have not really encountered online daters which I guess is good

I joined in 2019 so I’m not exactly an old Roblox player however when I was younger I played a game called Wizard101 and some members of its community also have a lot of nostalgia blindness. I found the nostalgia blindness there to be pretty dumb and thus am probably a little biased against nostalgia blindness is general. However I just don’t think that calling Modern Roblox toxic is going to help with anything. Toxicity has always existed. It doesn’t matter if you personally weren’t toxic because that’s just you(and sometimes people were but just won’t admit it) and that doesn’t discount others being toxic. That being said yes the company that made Wizard101 has gotten worse just like Roblox’s company. Companies tend to do that.

Course every community is different. Technically the Wizard101 community doesn’t have members calling the community toxic very often. This is because most of the members are veterans that have pretty much been trapped by nostalgia and toxicity claims usually come from people complaining about new players. And well there are barely ever new players. Lol.

I had joined as a guest in 2015 and i had more fun back then than now the new roblox is making decisions that are slowly killing itself they are allowing games for online dating even though its a kids game and the kids with mommys credit card are making the game worse by being spoiled toxic brats back then old roblox was actually fun and i would play for hours and now i bearly play it for what it has become

Not gonna lie, i unironically hate button tycoons, which were everywhere on old roblox with few non-button tycoons, and sadly it hasnt really changed.

Personally it depends on the tycoon for me. I've seen button tycoons that are really high quality, good animations, gameplay, etc... Like Deep Space Tycoon where there's thousands of buttons across several planets. But yeah most button tycoons are just really sloppy copy paste garbage or just really lazy and boring. I really dislike the new tycoon wave with the low poly plastic textures and way too kid-appealing.

@@BackToBackJames yea fair, especially when it used to be the same copy-and-pasted fire tycoon with a different name, the only button tycoon i can reliably enjoy is the one ya brought up, deep space tycoon.

I quit roblox because the game kinda sucks now and it got boring I miss the old days but I’ve moved on from roblox and I’m focusing on the future now

I consider old roblox 2006 - 2020, roblox cared more for the community and there wasnt as much toxicity as there is now. Old roblox had actually good events that werent only sponsers (sorry if i got that wrong) but the ones in old roblox were good like ready player two (that was in 2021 i think but its the last good event.) And slenders are WAY WORSE then you think. Look at meepcity parties cuz there is horrible stuff in them that would get me banned. Im from 2014 and it was way diffrent, simpler, just people having a good time.

well yes roblox nostalgia blindness does exist but alot of the games nowadays are exploiting money grabbers and its not that fun anymore
