The reasons why those ghosts in the blackout level are scary: 1.) The house layout feels very claustrophobic. 2.) You can't control the camera, so you can never take stock of your surroundings. 3.) The ghosts themselves are 2-D sprites and literally disappear when seen from the wrong angle. Combine all these things, and you get plenty of cases where you can walk right past one of the ghosts and think you're safe, only to turn around and realize _the monster was there all along._

This game nearly killed me when I was 8 years old. There I am, sat in my bedroom, third day in a row playing Rugrats, and without me realising, my large inflatable Darth Maul gaming chair (yep, that was a real thing) had scooted eeeeeeever so slightly closer to the radiator. As the next hour passes, the chair is slowly heating up. And I don't notice. Coz I'm an idiot. I reach the upside-down mirror world level, with the trippy visuals and Tommy running around on the ceiling. I'm not wearing my glasses coz I'm way too cool for school daddio, and my eyes are really struggling with those graphics. My inflatable chair is boiling my insides and the darn music is making my head spin. Everything became way too much to handle and before I know it I VOMIT EVERYWHERE, completely ruining my tiny Man Utd rug. So thanks for bringing that terrifying memory back, good Sir Caddy. And I'm not talking about the part where I'm sat in Darth Maul's lap.

Rugrats Go Wild. Burger King had this promo where you could get a scratch and sniff card and bring it to the movie with you and when an icon or number would flash on the screen you would scratch and smell the particular symbol on the card that had stuff like berries, cookies, plants, diapers or some stuff. All I know is it made me ill and even thinking about it makes me ill. I think Spy Kids 4 did it too.

There were so many things that scared me in this game, which I realise weren’t helped by the controls… the lobsters in the supermarket (still not a fan), the ghosts in the blackout, as well as the aliens. I was a cowardly child 😂 I was so relieved when I realised you didn’t need to play all the levels. I have to say I am so glad you said the same about Chucky’s golf course! Thought it was just me!

The ghost level absolutely terrified me as a kid. I think I was about 4 years old when I first played this and remember loving the golf level and for some reason, the supermarket. Simply because whatever box/stand of fruit and veg you were running along actually kicked up the right colours according to what you were running on. Simple mind likes simple things I guess. What's worse about the controls is that sometimes they want to work BACKWARDS (like say you're going forward, sometimes it MAKES YOU GO BACKWARDS or if you go right, it'll sometimes make you GO LEFT) [the level that will most likely cause this to happen is the Visitors from Outer Space level]. Still a good and cute game, though.

The Reptar final level scared me when I was a kid. My older brother had to beat it. The game was hard for me back then. Now it's just a fun game that's really easy to beat. Very nostalgic.

Wow, I was expecting the Slau-vage considering the controls; I remember playing the demo back in the day and while it does nail the look and feel of the show with the PS1's limited hardware, this is clearly one of those that would've fared a lot better on the feel front going into the modern era.
