I remember when I was little, my dad would say "Woah those guys look badass with skulls on their heads", so he asked one of them how'd he get it, the guy said you have to attack a player in a wildy. So, after some planning, I went up north of Varrock and there were HUNDREDS of people fighting eachother in the wildy. My dad said, just bank your stuff and run up to one of them and punch him. After getting my skull, I felt like The Terminator walking back down to the bank. R.I.P Runescape, best times were 2005-2010 IMHO

Runescape had really good music. Other MMORPGs have more subdued, ambient soundtracks. For Runescape, they pretty much assigned a theme song to every area of the game, and each one was distinct. And because of that, you know exactly where you are just by listening to the music. For example, here you know you wandered just a little too far North of Varrock, as the music shifts to match the eeriness of the start of the wilderness, where law and order are thrown out the window, and you can be attacked and killed at any moment.

No wilderness ditch you approach the area with caution with some 50k risk to your name it's an extortionate amount to be risking but you take that chance anyway you step in and at the bottom of the screen it finally reads level 1 with a picture of a skull you embrace yourself with an attack strength & defence potion with some cooked monkfish in the distance you spot a person with full rune a glory & dragon longsword and commence a fight next to you a guy has just perished and has been sent back to lumbridge nothing but bones to look at

I can barely recall this memory but I'll give it a go anyways... When I was a noob... someone with a combat level similar to me was luring me out to a place called "wilderness" I didn't have any idea what that place was... So I followed him not so deep into this "wilderness" in a search of a magical "Crystal Sword" But later on he just said something like "I've to kill you!" WTF? I had no idea at that time that you could kill other players there... so I just simply died and he took my items
