Old Rusty Butcher's Knife Restoration

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. This butcher's knife I was found at flea market few month ago and bought. In this video I also made a special stand for cleaver for kitchen. I used ash tree.
Restoration process:
I removed main layers of rust via electrolysis process.
I used anglegrinder machine to removed dent and effect of corrosion
I used sandpaper and random orbital machine to polish this cleaver and finally I used staff for polishing.
Cleaver handle I made from ash tree and used brass rivets.
Finally, I used two components paint and linseed oil to impregnation handle.
As usual, I made test for you. I hope you will enjoy this restoration video.

Ну вот, любо-дорого посмотреть! Вот это реставрация! Вот это тесак! Мой правда ещё длинее - 36 см. 20 см лезвие и 16 см рукоять. Но этот тоже хорош! Да к тому же и рукоять на штифтах, это тоже хорошо. Единственно что не хватает, это набалдашника в конце рукояти.

While it’s a ‘butcher knife’, I’d call it a ‘cleaver, as it’s too thick bladed and heavy for most slicing cuts, yet is well suited to separating joints or softer bones. I use a ‘chef knife’ for most cuts. Love the stands you made for the last few projects. Oddly, no ‘butcher’ activity occurred in you video, unless ruthlessly dispatching the vegetables counts!

It is a sacrificial piece, and the condition doesn’t matter, as it will corrode away as part of the process.

It wasn't electricity but temperature. You can see that was an old computer power supply. It can give max 12V

Whenever you do the electrolyte thing where you submerge the whole thing in water and salt solutions, why do you always leave a portion of the tang not submerge? It is also rusty

That part is always hidden by the handle, and I need good contact with the wire.
