Hi Phil. Just a quick tip for ya. If you had an alternator instead of the dynamo on that tractor you'd have no trouble starting it any day and any weather. I had a ford 4000 and a 135 and they both had dynamos for charging but when I got the alternator it was a far better job. Good video and nice to see the vintage machinery 👍

i understand what you mean but we want to keep her original even if it breaks my heart

You lose your Rev clock if u remove the Dynamo from the older Fords!

Phil there's nothing wrong there, that's how all them fingerbar mowers work. Had a ford/ransom back in the 80s, it was all I had for topping. The thing broke my heart!

Ahh Phil ya brought back special memories to me with the Finger Bar !!!! Christ the sharpening alone took ages and the rivots and spare knives to be kept handy too aswell for when ya were too far from home etc!!! Lad below is spot on by taking off the whole bar to sharpen..... that crank knuckle is worn too on the link bar at the rear (from the pto to the bar).... 4 screws and see inside then as far as I can remember.....(40 yr ago)….????. Pmsl at the flat battery and as usual fella ya say it like it is!! the word "Bollix" is as special a thing to you too iv'e learned lol!!! 110% fabricating job by "the boss" on making up the new prop bar for the road!!!! Jaze lad fine mower and well wear, just watch out for the balls a shite coming over the shoulder when ya leave the field lol!!!! See ya on the next one kiddo!!

I have a #32 MF 6ft sickle bar mower, made in about 1960, enjoyed your video, I use it on my 1957 TO35 Ferguson tractor Wish mine had that bar guard installed when transporting the mower bar, Never saw one of those over here in US, always wondered why as they are a major safety item Good luck and keep your fingers out of the bar guards,

is your mower a double stroke?
@andywilkinson37925 жыл бұрын
Hi you need to put on your 135 then you can keep some spares with you. Cos you got both tool box's in the wings and a battery grinder to keep the knifes sharp. I spent plenty off time on one off those. I even had the hedge cutter . Wich was nice two stages belt driven done nice job.

I had a field with a portion of it solid thistles probably only quarter of an acre of thistles mowed it in June and it's come back strong grass no thistles, I think they must be able to be mowed out

I have that very mower, only that bar that drives the blade is wooden on mine, supposed to flex and deaden the vibration. Thinking on buying a 35X myself soon if I can find a good 1. Mowing bar would look a bit small on the 6470 😉

I have a 539 IMT I use to use a 7 Ft. New Holland 451sickle bar mower on it . Until I bought a 8ft Gehl disc mower for my 5320 John Deere.. I would use about 1/2 the fuel 3/4 of a gal. with the small 539 IMT 39 horse power and sickle bar mower compared to the 5320 JD and disc mower about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 gal per hr.
