Check Out the Video Tour of Old Sheldon Church Ruins located in Beaufort County, South Carolina. This is a historical place built in 1753 and was originally known as Prince William Parish Church. The remains of Colonel William Bull along with General Oglethorpe are inside the ruins of the Church. This is a must-see historic site, old but well preserved by St. Helena's Church in Beaufort with many burials from the founding time of the Church. Walking around the ruins is breathtaking and mesmerizing, there is no admission, you will see the ruins with markers that tell the history behind them and how they were built and ruined again. It is not allowed to climb on the ruin or grave markers, no littering, no touching of the ruins and surrounding property. Old Sheldon Church Ruins is surrounded by Oaks covered with ferns, it is wheelchair accessible. We stayed in The Oak at Point South, a Thousand Trails Campground in Yemassee, South Carolina. It is worth visiting just 15 minutes drive from the campground where we stayed. On the way to the Old Sheldon Church Ruins, you will pass the Tomotley Plantation where you can see an amazing Spanish Moss Tree.
