Man I remember this warren guy cam to present when I bought my first stone island jacket. I was going round with this collector telling me about every single jacket and which one had the best features or the most unique dyes ( which was a random person I met in there). It felt like such a community. Warren walks in with this piece the 10th anniversary shadow project jacket which was a long trench like bomber with over 1000 pieces of glass inside the jacket. This was the coldest jacket to this day that I’ve ever seen. Will never forget this memory rip present

Barbour definitely but not Hackett. I have a friend who lives in Ostia Italy and they have a stone Island outlet and shops that sell it over there and it’s cheaper to buy it there than here. One of my friends had a part to play in the book Magnetic which mentions the hidden gem shops in London selling Stone Island for a fraction of the price. In Edinburgh we only had Cruise Clothes that sold it but even then the prices were more expensive

I'd forgotten the name of the shop, I still remember the unusual street name, Lambs Conduit St, would go there as a school kid!

1993/4 the most expensive SI was the ice jacket- was about £550- next year's was £650. Other jackets were 2-300. No-one collected them then though, was just to wear.
@reddevil65859 ай бұрын
But 550 was a lot of money in 1994 You could get an apartment in London for 50,000-60,000 back then so 100 jackets is an apartment

This was a great watch 👌🏻 Being brought up in London it was something very special back in the early 90s just knowing where the stone island shop was…. I used to take my mates up town to (beak st) as there was no such thing as google maps…. 🤣🤣🤣 Back in the early 90s it was defo a thing for well know football firms…. Only the top lads would wear it…. It was a different world back in the 90s to be wearing stone island there was no such thing as the internet so you would have to go out and find it and have the money to buy it, Which made it more special for me but now with online shopping it’s killed it a bit, I’m in my late 40s now and still have loads of stone island bits but struggle to wear it. Times have changed as hox said it’s better keeping low key….

If you were an early og raver then there was no fadhion it was whatever you thro on. Jeans dungarees baggy t shirt no one cared what you were wearing. Then when I later got into the house garage club scene then fashion was a big thing. I've always been a casual and always will be. I used to wear nothing but SI and the usual brands until it was no longer made in Italy and the huge price increase so I switched to CP which is much cheaper than SI and the quality is just as good imo. I went to flannels last week and the salesman asked if i bought my jacket from them n i said no online in flannels the rrp was 935 i paid 435 online. The shops simply cant compete anymore. You can also use Klarna and spread the cost over 3 monzhs without any fees.
@Paninari799 ай бұрын
From day dot stone island was distributed in the UK by Four Marketing along with other brands like CP etc. Mike Ashley not being the fool bought that business and restricted supply only to his outlets such as Flannels, Cruise etc.

Plurimus gonna make big strides if SI quality keeps dropping, whilst their prices peak out. Plurimus quality per £ is hard to beat and they dropped some serious heat. That latest snow squid jacket would be 2 bags if it was SI, it’s become a joke and others will take that space.

The beak street stone island store used to have cp company upstairs and Stoneisland downstairs. 2001 I was first there. I remember a guy in there early 2004/5 wearing the puma mostro in black with white stripe. One of the main guys at four marketing, Karl Morton I think his name was, he used to be the store manager of a store in Derby (where I grew up ) called limeys and he then moved to London to manage four marketing and all the brands under the four marketing company including stone island and he was based in beak street. Shame to see present close, Hoxton you got me onto it and I got a few good pieces from there including the Cp Company Clark’s jacket I got last September for £285. I’ll email you about the clothing situation here in Norway 👍😀 and thanks for the message about Manchester and Liverpool shopping. I was there last week.

Has Stone Island and CP ever made it outside of England? They are both unheard of in Canada. We are getting daylight theft on a New York level in my city. $300 for a baseball oe knit hat just because they have a logo on it is stupid. Seems street style people pay stupid prices. He mentions CP duffel coat, for me it is my Gloverall duffel coat, Burberry's (older S) car coat, Barbour Beaufort...OG brands. ;) All from thrift or vintage stores at a fraction at the price.
