Lost my wife of 45 years in March. Sweet and smart farm girl from Mississippi. Good soul to the bone. Heard Jack and Diane and this line is my new world. ‘Life goes on even after the the thrill of living is gone’. I hate cancer and I’m so sorry for everyone else going through that battle with their loved one. My prayers are with you.

I’m sorry to hear about your depression. I’m an old lady now, but I’ve had depression most of my life. It’s tough growing up in this generation. I was born in 1959, so I was there when this wonderful music was new. We knew it was special and it was so original. No one had ever done anything remotely similar. For me, the 60’s and 70’s are the songs that really made me happy and they are the soundtrack of my life. I know it’s hard being 15. It’s a lot harder to figure out what life wants from you. It’s probably overwhelming. If I can give you anything to help you through hard times, I would say that it is important to have music that makes you feel happy. In a few years, the music you listen to now will make up the soundtrack of your life. It can get you through some tough emotional times and remind you that you’re okay. ❤Brenda P ❤

Bellamy brothers - Let your love flow. It helps me when I get down.
@NanaBren
@NanaBren Ай бұрын
I remember playing that cassette until it came apart. The Bellamy Brothers are awesome. I have played many songs to bring me back to my favorite memories. I roller skated with a boy the first time to Creedence Clearwater Revival- CCR- Down on the Corner. During my depression, I played Everybody Hurts by REM over and over. Another one is I’m Movin’ On by Restless Heart. As time goes by @parkourtricksect there will be songs that lift you up and help you to keep going. There are songs I listen to only when I need to cry and let go of some of the pain. Tears are healing and it’s okay for you to cry in private moments. I love music and have about 60,000 songs on my desktop. Until I speak to you again, I will leave you with a little bit of love and lyrics: “Put a little love in your heart….” or as Restless Heart says, “I Won’t Let Go”. ❤️Brenda ❤️

My husband's RIP 2005 song was "Brown eyed girl" and I hope, I'm pretty sure he thought about me lol, we had an amazing, beautiful love story, he would swing me around as I ran into his arms when he came out to meet me for my work lunch halfway on a sidewalk, in beautiful California 💙I worked as Vault Teller n that's how we met in a beautiful old fashioned little town and our girls are 42 yrs, youngest 31 yrs lol. I still linger in our memories of marriage, love, romance, God Bless I have to say Love can be difficult as well as extraordinary but I was pretty cynical concerning "Love" but I just decided to reach for love and "Jumped" and never looked back, best, first time and only time we married at 30 yrs and never regretted my decision ❤ those memories now I cherish them and I am comforted I can't believe it but I actually will remember for an hour plus on my patio, looking at the pool, trees, remembering every beautiful thing we'd said, done together and with our girls 💙🥲 And it is in your head like the most beautiful movies you have ever seen. OMG our youth, health, strength and happiness is captured, confirmed in our family life photographs even further confirmation from my lovely memories. So I would highly recommend to be brave and experience your own adult, mature Love because I certainly distrusted "marriage contracts" only because I was child of 1960- monogamy, old fashioned concept of male/female marriage, children,= family unit but 1960 on there began social acceptance a lot of promiscuity ECT of divorce, multi remarriages and for my parents a lot of fighting ect. For us kids, this caused a lot of hurt, confusion unfortunately.

Born in '66, and I totally agree with you. One hand on a Kalashnikov, the other on the side of a pickup, going to a contact that would lead to my death or their's, all I cared about was the Rolling Stones blaring out of the pickup's sound system. All of us cammed up, having to retake a town we'd taken the day before. Not really caring about dying, as long as that glorious music poured out into the black night sky.

Hi, there is a group that writes and produces songs of different genres. To people, they might be a turn-off because they are from S. Korea but they make good wholesome music which is unusual for this day and age. The group is BTS and they have many awards from Billboard, AMA, and nominations from GRAMMYS. None of that sex exploitation, but great musical performances at the level of New York Broadway. Yes, unfortunate that for good talent and great music, it is another country but at least their songs are on KZbin with the lyrics in English. This music is about helping the youth through stressful pressures, and bullying, encouraging one must love oneself, and they are so real in their mission that they are spokespersons for UNICEF helping the youth throughout the world.

Lived on North Vancouver Island, on a clear night could hear R & R tunes as far away as Salt Lake City.....it BLEW me away !! I had a portable 45 rpm record player (crappy needle, not like todays technology), and often after school and weekends played my small library of 60's- 45's.....LET the GOOD TIMES Roll !!

What a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing this. My mom was born in 1949. My grandma made dresses for my mom to go to dances. My mom hated dancing but my grandma insisted she learn to dance. At my mom’s protests she responded by calling her “insipid” and “weak coffee.” Even my daughter knows the stories and she didn’t meet any of them. I never met my grandma (we emigrated when I was a baby and never went back to the old country again). She sounds like a cool grandma. I wish I’d been able to have a relationship with her. Your beautiful story brought all that back. Thank you.

Hard to believe he is in his 70s he literally has the body of a 40 year old and it’s hot as ever . Had a great honor in Tulsa CM in Marquette Michigan at Lakeview Arena and I swear he looks the same as he did 40 years ago

There was no internet in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's. We didn't have cell phones either , not yet. What we did have was huge black and white TV 's, or small tv's you could carry with you. Today not only can you listen to these songs from the radio, you can say the title of a song and it pops up on the net. Couldn't do that many many years ago.

@@wandamenix1400 That is good to know, nothing beats old times. You talk on hangouts? If yes lets talk more if that's okay by you.

Soundtrack of my life…pushing 70 now. Brings back memories of ‘Top40’ AM radio we’d listen to out of Minneapolis~St.Paul…we’d lose pretty much all those stations around 7:00 pm each evening, but WLS Chicago, and ‘The Mighty 1090’ KAAY out of Little Rock, Arkansas would come through clear as a bell and static free all through the night. Love the list; if there was one song I could add, it would be “Riders on the Storm” by The Doors from 1971. That came out a couple weeks after I graduated High School. Cruised to it all Summer.
