Actually you can find the traditional kind of da bao in Malaysia. They are really big and have more ingredients like sausages, mushroom and chicken thigh meat with bones.

@vtt3808 I'm not sure about JB. However in Singapore the closest I've seen is bloggers introducing this place at Jalan Besar called JB Ye Zhi Mei handmade dim sum. More frequently seen in various shopping malls is this little shop Nam Kee Pau by Fei Siong group selling the very big bao. I would buy from this shops occasionally.
