My grandma used to tell me all sorts of stories about people in town who could cure all sorts of ailments. When my mother was an infant, she got the croupe really bad and my great-grandmother got one of those healers and she did something with an egg and then threw it into the wood stove and when she did the egg was black inside and then mother got better. Up in the Pennsylvania Dutch country they call that kind of healing powwowing. I've known a lot of people over the years who swear by it. You guys remind me of my uncles and great-uncles sitting around chewing the fat at the family farmhouse on Sunday afternoon. Your stories bring back a lot of good memories.

My mom had a neighbor back on the olden days, that what they called it, that could talk the fire out of a burn, and also a man in the next town over could get rid of the warts by rubbing them, I'll witness to that because he did it to me! Love you guys!!

My Grandfather passed the gift to me six days before he died. After 30 years I've removed twenty three warts from family and friends. I'm like you I haven't decided who to pass it on to. God is good!

Had a friend of mine's Great Grandma that could do things like that. Had a big wart on my hand and she told me to get my Grandma's kitchen wash rag and bring it to her. She held my hand and rubbed that rag over that wart and said a few words and told me it would go away in a while. I kept looking at for a week or two and it was still there. I forgot about it and looked down one day and it was gone. Never came back in over 50 years.

I knew an old man back in the early 70's that could blow the fire out of a burn. Like the warts, he couldn't tell how he did it.

I had a wart on a finger. My girlfriend at that time said she could get rid of it. She rubbed the wart a few seconds and that's all I remember but one day I realized it was gone. One day she was gone also.

I'm 70+ yrs old and my Cherokee Grandma said take an old dish rag with a few drops of blood from the wart. Go bury the rag and never go back there. Gone it will be.

my mother was raised in powell county , ky. and if you came home with a cut she would apply turptine and sugar on the wound and the next day soreness would be gone and healed up in a couple of days.

I remember my dad saying that he had a cut/sore on his leg that wouldn’t heal. He let his puppy dog lick it several times and it healed right up.

When I was about 12 years old, I told a friend that I could remove his warts. He asked how. I told him that I had to pee on this hand. He said "well I can do that" About 2 weeks later everyone in school thought he was nuts because every time he we to the bathroom there he'd pee on his hand. That was 50 years ago. YEP, HE STILL HAS THE WARTS - ROFL :-)

rub a potato on a wart, after you cut the tater in half because it is something about the juice of the tater. i think it helps to dig at the wart with a needle so you can see the black seed and then use the potato

Burned my hands on coals in a bucket of ashes as a kid and an old man blew the fire out. Took the pain out. No blisters or scars

@@KyleTheDalek Not sure on the specifics, but I had always heard the person doing the blowing would lose the ability to do it if the told. Also heard that when the ability was passed on that a man had to teach a woman and that a woman had to teach a man. True? Don't know, but the blowing really worked on my hands.

I had warts taken off two different times by a neighbor. My mother-in-law could draw fire out of a burn. I believe in all of the old ways.

Never say how you can do secret things, I wasn't told everything about having a gift an I told how I can do it, I lost it. Never tell. I hope I can get it back, I have not been the same since that day. I don't feel like a whole person.

Speaking of an old dirty dish rag. When I was a little child back in the late fifties or early sixties there was an man in his nineties that would take an old dirty dish rag an rub it on your wart with one hand an hold his other hand on your forehead and told you to close your eyes and he would some words like he was praying or something I don’t remember what the words was. When he was done he told you to go bury it. Don’t let anybody see you do it and when the dish rag rotted in the ground your wart would fall off and I seen this work more than once scary huh

my grandson had warts and my wife said she wanted to put some wart remover on em and he said no cause jesus was gonna do it. we went on vacation and when we got back he showed her and said look here i told ya so jesus took em off. true story

My granny could remove warts, she would rub half of a dried bean on it while mumbling something under her breath, then she would tell the person who she was removing the wart from to take that bean half and place it under a rock she would point to, and when that bean would rot away the person wart would fall off.

Yep I had a man remove my warts back in high school. That was over 50 years ago. It works! I had an Uncle John could talk fire out of a burn.That's a true fact.I've seen him do it. Love you guys and God Bless you for making us laugh.

I ain't seen anyone rub off a wart, but I suppose anything is possible. I have used mashed up fresh garlic, put it on the gauze part of a band-aid, then put that over the wart for half an hour. Then you repeat a couple of times a day until it's gone. If you leave it on longer it'll take it off faster, but kind of burns the skin. That also works for "skin tags" too, if y'all know what they are.

My momma use to measure the wart with a broom straw and it would go away...probably would have anyway...lol

I seen a lady that could take a broom straw and lay it cross ways a couple of times on a wart and then burn the broom straw and in a week or so it would dissappear.

If this is true, that R. Tipton, shore keeper, would have been a distant relative of mine. Interesting. Also, my Grandmother rid me of about 4 warts from one session with her ability. She never passed the ability or secret on. This was almost 70 years ago.

Oh yes this same old man if you had a nose bleed that wouldn’t stop he could take his hand and put it on your forehead and say a verse from the Bible and it would stop bleeding right there on the spot
