Having read everyone's comments all I can say is that I completely agree. I am currently collecting the TV show, but so far all I have is a season 1 volumes 1 and 2. I really went crazy for Eve Arden in The Mothers- In -Law!

At the beginning Shirley Booth played Miss Brooks . It is said she did not find the vehicle as a poor put apron HS teacher as a subject of comedy and bowed out of this role . She had done other radio parts while appearing on the Broadway stage . She sounded as old as her land lady . Eve Arden was the definite Miss Brooks with her way with voice and delivery on the radio , similar to Clayton Moore fit The Lone Ranger TV part . The thing that was hard to believe about OMB . especially in the TV series was that the tall, attractive , glamourous Miss Arden was chasing any man instead of the other way around .

Eve Arden is brilliant in her roll on both radio and tv. So many actors changed rolls in there transition to tv.

Ok so here's my personal challenge to myself. I am going to listen to a playlist I made that contains 6 compiles of H & H. for a total of 25 hours non stop without switching the channel. I have no tv. I am just making this test to see if I have patience or perseverance to finish it. 24hours of either detective or comdey without changing. M
