Mario games have ALWAYS reused bosses though. 1st Mario - Jump over Bowser and grab the axe with some minor changes each time 2nd US Mario - Bird with minor changes, mouse guy multiple times, etc 3rd Mario - Koopaling 7 times with minor changes then Bowser 4th Mario - Reznor, Koopalings with 3 or 4 different types of battles Mario 64 - Swing Bowser's tail 3 or 4 times etc

What your meant to do is wait until he taunts you then get in and get some damage in, then wait for the next taunt, but fireball spam works, I guess.

Also Lanius from New Vegas, for a guy built up the entire game as the big Scott destroyer of entire cities, by the time you fight him you can pretty much kill him instantly with a good headshot, but more likely if you have speech 100 just tell him to go away, which he then does. Pretty anticlimactic tbh.

The only boss I like in Spyro 1 is Toasty because I think the idea of a sheep (which had only been seen as fodder up to this point) putting on a disguise and confronting Spyro is a cool idea, not to mention unexpected. All the other bosses are really lackluster and push-overs. To be fair, Toasty is too, but he was very creative, not to mention the level had a fantastic soundtrack.

On the topic of QTE bosses the final boss of Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor was disappointing as hell, after fighting your way through a massive army of some of the strongest orcs in the game alongside your own elite squad of orcs, you face off against SAURON HIMSELF and the dude is nothing more than like 3 button presses like c'mon you're gonna make the most evil thing alive nothing more than a QTE after all this buildup?

Oh, god, yeah. Most of the bosses, actually. Killer Croc was pretty bad, poison ivy just reminded me way too much of the boss fight in RE4 where the midget became a planty monster, and the steroid guys were always disappointing every time they showed up. Still a great game, though. I particularly liked the Scarecrow segments.

Use good either units, like Riki, Sharla or Melia. Those I hear have good effects against Telethia. Grinding does take a lot, but it CAN be worth it. Also, chain attack as much as possible.

Squid Baron and Hypno Baron in the "Friends to the End" pack for Shantae Half Genie Hero. Aside from the fact that the pack itself is indeed very challenging, that boss encounter is SO frustrating! Bolo, Rotty and Sky share only 3 hearts of health, while each if the Barons has its own hit points (and lot of them). Plus, the attack patterns are tricky. P.S. I totally agree about Space Mama.

Not the worst I ever played, but I did it recently so it's fresh in my mind. Corypheus, the final boss of Dragon Age Inquisition. Expecting an epic battle with one of the first ever Darkspawn whose trying to attain godhood? An evil Magister with red rocks growing on his face and is essentially immortal? What are you stupid? No, just run around a battlefield and hit him a bunch of times. Cause that's totally not a major let down.

They build up this awesome fight with him taking Sparda's form only to bait and switch you with an amorphous blob of killer Jell-O, it's attacks are bullshit and barely telegraphed, the move where it spawns those smaller Jell-O snake things is horseshit, being really hard to counter properly, and while the idea of having Vergil team up with you for the latter half of the fight is cool, it's really imprecise and he basically functions as a shittier Doppelganger style, restricting your Devil Trigger usage for the rest of the battle.

Yeah, Arkham isn't great. It's interesting how they directly follow up one of the weaker boss fights in DMC3 with not only arguably one of the best boss fights of DMC3 and even the series as a whole, but also arguably one of the best boss fights in the industry. Vergil 3 Is a seriously strong contender for one of the best final bosses in any video game for me, so It's kinda funny that the fight that directly proceeded It Is so weak.

Very true. I've beaten that game more often than I can remember, and every single time, it's like I'm hoping he'll retain his Sparda-form this time. I hate that fight. Also, I can pretty consistently dodge every boss attack in the game, but those homing flying red snail things he fires that do a ton of damage, I still am not sure how to dodge.

The worst kind of bosses IMO are those which suddenly ramp up the difficulty to insane levels just as a cheap, lazy way of extending the play time. They just become a giant, fat, obnoxious roadblock that sits there and stops you from enjoying the rest of the game. Add in the fact that cheats for games are increasingly rare nowadays, and you're pretty much never going to see the end of the game, unless you put in hours and hours of frustrating tedium. The worst offenders for me include the first boss in Resident Evil Revelations (trying to fight a giant blob thing with a saw for a hand that can insta-kill you in close quarters with infinitely-spawning mooks? Yeah, no) and (if this counts) the stone angels in Ghostbusters The Video Game. Infinitely spawning enemies that attack non-stop while you try to ram them into a small area with a dodgy physics engine, while ANOTHER infinitely spawning enemy nips at your heels and your partner keeps dying due to terrible AI. Screw that noise.

fantasyguy86 Ursula was actually fun, but I'm biased due to the fact that I didn't mind the change of pace from generic RPG game to rhythm game. The stage was kind of colorful and the songs were kinda cool. Demyx though. Demyx was the shittiest boss in the entire game. His water spirits minigame is annoying and useless, only there to make you run around like a chicken without its head, the only line he says for the duration of the fight is atrocious. He was the only boss that took me an ungodly amount of time to beat and not even the Pirate's one had me in such a pickle.

Micolash isn't the worst imo. The character himself is entertaining as all hell, and the music for the fight is among my faves in the game. The worst boss in bloodborne by far for me is the undead giant with the chained balls on his back from the chalice dungeons. that one hit kill spin attack is one of the most bullshit things I've ever seen in anything. not only is it near impossible to dodge through, it's reach is fucking absurd, so not even trying to dodge away is exactly the best method. What pisses me off the most is that the boss itself wouldn't even be hard at all if he didn't have that one fucking attack, and it feels cheap as fuck because of it.

The last boss in Drakengard 3. A rhythm game boss fight at the end of a hack n slash game. Don't forget that the game taunts you by changing the camera angle so you can't see the hint to when you should press the right button. You have to memorise the beat of the song and can't get the beat wrong for 50 or so beats.

Spider Guardian is pretty easy, honestly, since IIRC he won't harm you on his own, and the whole battle is just putting bombs in the right part. the only bosses i'd classify as bad from Prime 2 are Boost Guardian (way too powerful this early on), Alpha Blogg (too fast, very small window of space to attack him), and the Alpha Splinter, first boss, on Hard mode (not the Dark variant, he's actually pretty easy, but the first mode is too fast and can kill you very easily if you're not careful). honorable mention to Quadraxis because of his completely bullshit parts you need to scan.

He hits like a friggin truck, his launch attack seems to always hone in on you no matter where you go and you can only hurt him by attacking his back.

The first goomba from Super Mario Bros. A total anticlimax. All you have to do is jump on him one single time and he is incredibly easy to hit. You do not even have to fight him at all, you can just ran past him. The only way you will ever loose if you literally do nothing and let him hit you. You know, I think he might not be a boss at all.

To this day Demyx from Kingdom Hearts 2 is one of the most irritating bosses I've ever fought. His battle dialogue is annoying, his water clone mini game that you have to beat or its game over is ass, and his attacks have such a huge range that it makes dodging super tight. Also transforming in Shadow form in this fight (as well any fight in KH 2) is a damn death sentence. Hopefully KH 3 will have better bosses.
