If you get one thats outside of the US they are great. I owned both the Geo Tracker, which the x90 was kind-of-sort-of based on, and the Metro. Both of those are somewhat rare in the US. The X90 even more so. I loved both of them. The Metro was the only way I managed make a 50 mile commute for a minimum wage job actually work out. The Tracker let me do a very fun gig for the US Census that would have otherwise required a big, lifted, off-road vehicle. My Metro's run came to an end when a drunk driver broadsided me going 50+ MPH. It was crushed like a soda can, but I made it out with only some bruises. I appreciate that, because it could have been much worse. The Tracker met it's fate off-roading, which was a fitting end for it. I tried to cross a "puddle" that ended up being 4 feet deep, and it sunk down to level of the hood before getting stuck. After a long walk I found someone kind enough to help pull it out. I was even able to drive it home that day. But being submerged in muddy water for several hours (with the engine still running for much of the time) took it's toll. Components failed one by one over the next few days and weeks, until I had to accept it was done for. Being older now I would not buy either of those cars as a daily driver. But as a second vehicle? Hell yeah!

I had a brand new Geo Tracker in 96 95 hp with a 5 speed. I bent the Unibody offroad. It was so slow and still great fun. I always thought the X-90 was cool looking

Always liked the 'look' of these, you couldn't help but notice when one drove by! Maybe too ahead of it's time. Remember this pre-dates the 'wacky' designs of the Smart car, the Cube, the iQ etc. With some updates/revisions (electric even?) it might be much more accepted today!

God, i remember bbc world when i was growing up, its what the teachers used to record during the night in the chance that they might be able to wheel in the VCR player and small tv the next day in school to distract us for a bit.

I had one of these, I "inherited" from my brother. At first |I was embarrassed to be driving it as it was the only car I had at the time but in a few short months I came love that little thing. You took the roof off put it in 4WD and while underpowered overall GD that thing would go anywhere.

I actually really want one of these. Rwd, manual, just slide around on dirt roads at the speed limit. I like that it has no roof. I like that it isn't very fast. And I like looking at it. It makes me smile. If James May can love a Fiat Panda, I can love the x90. But hey, I'm glad no one else does because they aren't easy to find.

Put Ford Crown Victoria springs and shocks on it and you can fit some nice large tires under it. A tough little 4x4. Always wanted one of these ever since I first saw one. It's just the answer to a question nobody asked.

After seeing one for the first time at the car dealership I worked at I said. What the hell is that? All Suzukis at the time had plastic coverings across the rocker panel that were nearly impossible to remove.

0 - 0:13 I wonder how much help some 1 or 2 inch wheel spacers, creating a wider stance would be? Put on 4, two inch thick steel (not aluminum) wheel spacers for a wider stance and do the same test....Or a combination of wider offset wheels with wheel spacers and just add some fender flares.

Are those the cars that are restricted to 30 mph that young teenagers can drive?
@ENKTDeeColon_and_randomnumbers4 жыл бұрын
@@MonkeyHunch1 yeah, except they're restricted to 30 KM/H. Way back those A-tractors or EPA-tractors used to be fully rebuilt Volvo Duetts with twin gearboxes, short gear ratios, very short rear ends and no rear suspension at all with painful registration processes.

It's short, stubby, and has a high profile (which means the wind will buffet it around)--there is no way I'd want to take that on the freeway. I bet 80 mph in one of those would be terrifying
