That is one nice setup, looks totally worth it. I'm still old school with a 14' sit one top paddle kayak I have had for 15 years but it does have a gps Depth finder with the same small battery. I'm 70 and use it for fishing and exercise. Nice video

Crushing it at 70 is great my friend. Nothing better than being on the water.

I bought a 120 and it’s my first kayak. I’m setting it up now and this video really helped. Can’t wait to get out on the water!

LOL sorry for another post but something you need to know. Your auto pilot connections WILL start to corrode unless you bath them in lithium grease. Keep tools and supplies ready and know how to hotwire direct to your battery if necessary. I watched a good friend need to hotwire his system just last week

Liked and subscribed! Awesome breakdown of what you use!! I've been looking to get into fishing now that I moved down to SWFL! This looks SO fun!

It's a blast. I moved down from Ohio 3 years ago and it's totally a different world. Fishing is fantastic. Thanks for subscribing

Good video. I have an Outback. About 1k less invested including my Lowrance. I do like the exercise I get using the fin drive. I can also get into skinny areas with a flutter kick. But again, good video.

When I was shopping for a kayak I looked at the Hobie Outback I almost went that route. But the Spot-Lock is what sold me on the Old Town.

Nice job! Very helpful to itemize the costs

Why do you have a second battery for the Garmin if your 100a battery lasts days and days?
@Fish-Man-MikeАй бұрын
It was easer for me to add the extra battery than trying to splice it into my 100a battery. Plus some days I troll all day and want to make sure I have plenty of battery.

Not bad. A little over the top as it relates to the extras. Lots of "nice to have"s that I would not classify as "needs". ProTip: I've wheeled & dealed ALL my gear off FB marketplace, and saved a LOT that way- including the Yak itself.

Thanks for the info. Good tip on the marketplace.

Well when you talk about true cost for the old town lets be honest some of that cost is markup other wise good video

Very nice kayak with all the good features but my research led me to a Brooklyn 13ft kayak with trolling motor and steering between my legs all for $1600 on Amazon delivery included. My 2 batteries totaling 130AH (all weekend power) fit easily in the front compartment giving me the under seat area for a sweet gear set up. I also have stabilizers since I fish Florida's coastal waters and inlets which means I can fish any conditions and stand up and throw my cast net. I have dual beam fish finder and a 48 qt yetti cooler in the back and honestly I spent half what you spent

I feel like you're paying for the name. I was just at Dick's and the regular ones (not peddle driven) were 4 times the price of some nice Pelicans with the same features
@Fish-Man-Mike5 ай бұрын
I love my kayak but I can't disagree with you. I am sure part of the price is the name.
